Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is given by channelling energy through the hands and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress. On the other hand, if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. During a Reiki treatment, the Reiki energy flows through my hands into you without actual physical contact. Usually you will lie on a massage table, but treatments can also be given with you seated or even standing- whichever is the most comfortable for you. You will remain fully clothed and I will place my hands close to your body in a series of hand positions. These include positions around the head, shoulders, stomach, and the feet. Other specific positions may be used based on your needs. Whether you are suffering from an illness, aches and pains, stress, emotional issues or just feel like spoiling yourself, you are sure to enjoy the pure relaxation of the Reiki leading you to feel more relaxed and at peace by the end of the session.
