Who or what makes you feel happy? I always ask my clients about what makes them feel good because as a solution focused hypnotherapist I know how important it is to train our brains to recognise and appreciate the good things in life. This is because it helps the brain to produce and maintain a steady flow of serotonin, a feel-good brain chemical that plays an important role in regulating mood and protects against low mood and depression.
I received a lovely mood boost of serotonin and oxytocin this week when this photo of our little one at the cat shelter popped up in my photo feed reminding me that I took it two years ago. That’s when I first met Rosie who was staying at Paula’s Cat Rescue centre (which has since closed, sadly). It was an instant friendship. I had been grieving for our previous cat who had passed away but I was finally ready for a new furry friend. I adopted Rosie and brought her home shortly afterwards. Together our family cat has played a big part in keeping our household happy and playful. 🐱❤️
