Some of our lovely residents enjoyed a relaxing pamper session — nails filed, hands massaged and plenty of feel-good chats along the way. A little self-care goes a long way!

Meanwhile, the excitement was building in the lounge with a lively game of Bingo — eyes down, dabbers ready… and yes, there may have been a few competitive streaks showing! 👀

For those who preferred something a little quieter, we had residents enjoying reading time and getting stuck into word games, keeping minds active and conversations flowing.

Other residents have been stretching, strengthening and smiling their way through Pilates today! 💪

This morning, Arthur and Audrey enjoyed some special You & Me Time with a lovely scenic drive.
Windows down, fresh air flowing and plenty of smiles along the way — sometimes it’s the simple things that mean the most.

There was reminiscing, laughter, stories shared and a few “oh I remember when…” moments too! Getting out and about, even just for a gentle drive, can spark wonderful memories and lift the spirits.

Today was all about special one-to-one time… and when Pearl comes to visit, you just know it’s going to be lovely 🥰

Sometimes it’s not about big events or grand activities. It’s about sitting together, sharing a chat, having a laugh, reminiscing about London days gone by, and simply enjoying each other’s company.

Pearl popped in for a little company and, as always, left us smiling. These quiet moments of connection are just as meaningful as the busy days — they remind us why we do what we do 💜

🖤✨ Ash Wednesday Reflections at The Potteries ✨🖤

Today we marked Ash Wednesday with a calm and thoughtful reflective art session. Residents explored charcoal art, creating beautiful cross designs and expressive pieces using soft shading and gentle strokes.

We also chatted about what Ash Wednesday represents — a time of reflection, renewal and the beginning of Lent. It sparked some lovely conversations, memories and shared thoughts around faith and tradition.

There was something very peaceful about the room… the quiet concentration, the smudged fingertips, and the pride in each finished piece.
And we have to say — the final results were absolutely super! 🖤

🥞💛 Kindness… with a side of pancakes! 💛🥞

It may have been World Kindness Day… but did you really think we’d forget about Pancake Day? Absolutely not!

While kindness was spreading through the home, so was the smell of freshly made pancakes! Residents were busy choosing their toppings — lemon & sugar (a firm favourite!), strawberries & cream, chocolate drizzle… and let’s just say a few fingers may have been “quality checking” the syrup.

There was laughter, a little bit of pancake flipping (some more successful than others! 😂), and lots of happy faces across all suites.

Thank you to kitchen team for making a substantial amount of pancakes,and to Michelle & Mary for making sure every resident enjoyed a pancake.

💛✨ World Kindness Day at The Potteries ✨💛

What a truly heart-warming day we’ve had celebrating World Kindness Day here at The Potteries!

Our amazing staff were treated to a little surprise of sweets, refreshing drinks and positive quote cards to brighten their day — because kindness isn’t just for our residents, it’s for our whole team too!

We also launched a fun Workplace Kindness Challenge, encouraging everyone to carry out small, thoughtful acts for one another. From lending a helping hand to leaving uplifting messages, the positivity was contagious!

A special moment today saw Zita and Jodie being gifted beautiful flowers and heartfelt cards from the team — a small token of appreciation for the kindness, leadership and support they show every day.

There were smiles, laughter and a real sense of togetherness across all suites.

Love Was in the Air at The Potteries! 💕❤️

Cupid certainly paid us a visit this Valentine’s Day at The Potteries Care Home! 💘

Our residents enjoyed a fabulous afternoon of mocktail making, mixing up delicious fruity creations with plenty of sparkle (and maybe a cheeky umbrella or two! 🍹✨). From berry fizz to tropical twists, everyone got involved shaking, stirring and of course taste-testing!

The fun continued with a Love-Themed Hangman, featuring romantic words,.

And it wasn’t just the residents feeling the love… our team and relatives joined in the fun too! ❤️
