The Nursing and Midwifery Council has updated its position on the remote prescribing of non-surgical cosmetic medicines, including anti-wrinkle injections.

From 1st June 2025, remote prescribing of non-surgical cosmetic injections will be banned and nurse prescribers will only be able to issue a prescription for non surgical cosmetic medicines ( such as anti wrinkle injections) when a face to face consultation has been carried out by a prescribing nurse.

The NMC is updating its position on the remote prescribing of non-surgical cosmetic medicines, including certain anti-wrinkle injections and aesthetic emergency kit items.
