CUPPING THERAPY!

What is Cupping ?

Cupping therapy involves placing either glass or plastic cups on the skin to create a vacuum by suctioning out the air. This increases overall blood flow to help the body repair itself and eases muscular pain.

Benefits of Cupping

⭐️Stimulation of blood and lymph circulation around the body which can aid the healing process

⭐️Can help reduce symptoms of flu, coughs and colds

⭐️Reduces feeling of anxiety and stress

In my practice I like to use fire cupping alongside many of my acupuncture treatments, especially treating muscular pain and tension.

If you would like to find out how Cupping may help you , please feel free to get in contact on 07891737351 or email katelanningacupuncture@gmail.com

March is Endometriosis Awareness Week!

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb starts to grow in other areas of the body, such as the ovaries and the fallopian tubes. Like the womb lining, tissue builds up every month then bleeds, however, unlike a period there is no way for the blood to escape. The build-up of trapped blood can result in internal lesions and scar tissue.

Symptoms include pain in your lower tummy or back, period pain (which stops you doing from your normal activities), painful s*x, discomfort when going to the toilet during your period & difficulty getting pregnant.

It effects 1 in10 women in the UK and can take on average 7.5 years to be diagnosed, this condition can have significant impact on the individual’s day to day life.

Research has shown that Acupuncture can be used as an effective treatment to provide pain relief, reducing inflammation, and regulating hormone levels.

If you are one of the many women who suffer with the pain of endometriosis, why not try acupuncture to give you some relief.

If you would like more information, please feel free to call me for a chat and we can talk through the ways that acupuncture can help.

Suffering from Plantar Fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain. It involves inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of each foot and connects the heel bone to the toes (plantar fascia).

Plantar fasciitis commonly causes stabbing pain that usually occurs with your first steps in the morning. As you get up and move, the pain normally decreases, but it might return after long periods of standing, or when you stand up after sitting. It is more common in runners and in people who are overweight.

Suffering from this condition can be incredibly frustrating as the pain can limit your day-to-day life and can additionally restrict you from taking part in enjoyable activities such as sports.

If you are suffering from Plantar Fasciitis, then Acupuncture could be a great treatment option for you.

Find out how you can be pain free please get in contact me either on 07891737351 or email katelanningacupuncture@gmail.com

Bell’s Palsy

Bell’s Palsy is a condition that affects the facial nerve and causes weakness in the muscles on one side of the face . When Bell’s Palsy first occurs it can be frightening and distressing as patients often believe they are having a stroke, as a common first sign is the face collapsing on one side.

The aftereffects of Bell’s Palsy are drooling, dry mouth, loss of taste, inability to close the eye on the affected side, eye dryness, headaches, and pain behind the ear. Weakness is temporary and improves within 9 months; however, the aftereffects of Bell’s Palsy can affect a person’s confidence.

Acupuncture is a highly recommend treatment and can speed the recovery process for Bell’s Palsy, in 2017 Angelina Jolie suffered from the condition and credits Acupuncture to aiding her recovery.

If you are suffering from this condition or know anyone who is, then Acupuncture is an effective treatment. Please see my website for testimonials.

A new year, a new you?

Traditional acupuncture is a healthcare system used in the East for over 2,000 years. Acupuncture adopts an holistic approach to healthcare, considering the mind and body as one, and is based on the idea that a blockage or disturbance in the flow of ‘qi’ (a concept from Chinese philosophy) can cause health issues.

Traditional Chinese Medical theory views pain and illness as an indication that the body is out of balance.

People of all ages can benefit from having acupuncture to help manage a range of health conditions – it is used all over the world as a stand-alone treatment or in combination with other forms of medicine.

Your local BAcC registered acupuncturist will be happy to discuss how acupuncture may help you. To find your local practitioner, visit: https://bit.ly/3z0RBon
