What powerlifting has taught me about ageing skin…
I’ve been a little quieter on socials this week as I’ve been recovering from a cold — which actually reminded me how important consistency over perfection really is 🤍
Building strength after 30 is very similar to maintaining healthy skin after 30.
One gym session won’t build muscle or bone density.
And equally, one treatment won’t transform your skin long term.
Real change happens when you support the foundations:
sleep, nutrition, hydration, SPF, good skincare and collagen-stimulating treatments like microneedling or peels over time.
Results are accumulative.
I train around a chronic health condition, so my routine isn’t always perfect and sometimes I need weeks off. But keeping the basics in place and returning when I can is what creates progress.
Skin is exactly the same.
It’s not about doing everything at once — small, consistent changes over time make the biggest difference.
To me, that’s what real self-care looks like ✨
If you’re focusing more on long-term skin health rather than quick fixes, this is exactly how I approach treatment planning in clinic 🤍
