In the Northern Hemisphere, is the longest day and shortest night of the year ✨️ Spiritually, Summer Solstice holds deep symbolism and meaning:

1. Light and Illumination

Symbol of enlightenment: As the sun reaches its peak, it represents inner clarity, truth, and spiritual awakening.
Illumination of the soul: It’s a time to bring to light what has been hidden—emotions, insights, or creative visions.

2. Expansion and Growth

The sun at its height reflects personal power, growth, and abundance.
It’s a time to honor how far you've come, and to set intentions for continued growth—both spiritual and practical.

3. Celebration of Life and Vitality

Many traditions celebrate with fire, dance, and feasting, symbolising the life force and creative energy of the sun.
Spiritually, it's a time of joy, gratitude, and connection to nature.

4. Balance and Transition

Though it marks a peak of light, it also initiates a turning point toward shorter days—a reminder of life’s cycles.
Spiritually, it teaches balance between light and dark, action and rest, external and internal growth.

5. Connection to the Divine Feminine and Masculine

The solstice often represents the union of the masculine (sun, action, fire) and feminine (earth, intuition, water) energies.
It invites harmony within and connection to the sacred rhythms of nature.

Happy Summer Solstice!

A shadowy full moon at the end of our May Reflections session perfectly represented our theme of light and shadow.

We often speak of light as the goal — illumination, clarity, truth. We chase it in ourselves, in others, and in the world. We call it 'good', and rightly so. Light warms us, reveals what’s hidden, helps things grow. It is the divine spark, the soul illuminated.

But light alone is not the whole story.

Shadow walks with light - always. Not as its enemy, but as its mirror, its balance, its mystery. Shadow is not evil. It is depth. It is the unseen, the unspoken, the parts of us waiting to be known and loved.

Where light reveals, shadow protects. Where light radiates, shadow restores. The seed is held in darkness before it reaches the sun. The womb is shadow. So is the cave, the night sky, the deep well of our own inner knowing.

When we reject shadow, we reject a part of ourselves. But when we embrace it - when we sit with our fears, our pain, our past - we discover that even our darkness holds sacred truth. And from that union - light and shadow together - we become whole.

So may we honor the light within us, and not fear the shadow that walks beside it.

Because healing is not just about shining brighter.
It’s about becoming more true.

And the most radiant light often rises from the deepest shadow.

Here I am as a guest speaker on the Breaking The Cycle To Step Forward podcast with the inspirarional Chris Tuck and Beverley Ann - you can watch it here:

I recently started co-faciliting a wonderful psycho-educational course for adult survivors of childhood abuse with Chris. Anyone who knows me understands how passionate I am about this subject, and it's so rewarding to be supporting groupwork again in this way.

Survivors of Abuse (SOB) has a mission to empower adult victims and survivors, helping them to transform their lives and reach their full potential. The SOB C.L.E.A.N.E.R. Living Therapy Programme is delivered face-to-face, to small groups of individuals who have been victims of abuse and who are working through the trauma impact. The 8-week course takes a holistic approach to empower the participants to heal and move forward using mindset, nutrition, fitness and stress management protocols. If you know anyone that could benefit from attending this fully subsidised course, you can find more information and sign up here:
