Research consistently shows that regular physical activity combined with social interaction plays a key role in maintaining health and wellbeing as we age.
Thrive Club is a physiotherapy-led programme for adults, deliberately structured to address both the physical and social dimensions of healthy ageing.
Each session is divided into two complementary components. The first half focuses on clinically informed, supervised exercise, designed to improve strength, balance, mobility, and functional movement, supporting long-term physical independence and confidence. The second half is dedicated to purposeful social engagement, recognising the well-established evidence that meaningful social interaction plays a critical role in cognitive health, emotional wellbeing, and sustained participation in physical activity.
By integrating structured exercise with facilitated social connection, Thrive Club moves beyond traditional fitness classes. It provides an environment where participants not only strengthen their bodies, but also cultivate relationships, motivation, and a sense of belonging - all of which are fundamental to ageing well.
Delivered by Walfinch Bromley and Sevenoaks and Home Links Physiotherapy, promoting wellbeing in our community.
Sessions are hosted at Orpington Village Hall Trust and run on Tuesdays throughout the month, excluding the fourth Tuesday. Attendance is free of charge.
