6 things I constantly have to explain to patients due to some misinformation they have received 🙈
“Just rest it for 6 weeks” 🚫
Rest while injured isn’t the answer.
Here’s why ⬇️
Your body needs movement and your muscles needs a stimulus to heal properly.
Complete rest leads to muscle weakness, stiffness, and a higher chance of re-injury when you return.
If your physio or doctor is telling you to totally rest for 6 weeks, find yourself a new one ASAP.
Recovery should be active, progressive, and strategic - not passive waiting.
