Hey guys 👋🏻

Just a heads up that my latest mailer is going out at 5pm today 📨

• The more I learn the more I’m convinced that the most powerful healing is through the body •

Don’t get me wrong - there’s absolutely a time and place for talking therapies and I have benefitted greatly from these.

But TRUE healing, true long term cellular level change for me…. is through the body.

Movement is a key component of being able to access the mind, making us physically and mentally more resilient.

Breathwork puts the mind back in to the body & creates positive adaptive change.

Mindfulness reminds us that we have a whole universe inside of us, designed with the sole purpose of allowing us to express our full potential.

(Again I just want to clarify, talking therapy is essential in some cases)

I told my Doctor I was a breathwork teacher the other week and he asked “what’s that?” 🙈 - there’s definitely room for change.

More weight given to new body-based modalities as a means of healing.

It’s a bit of a dream right now maybe, but I’m hoping a Malcom Gladwell style ‘tipping point’ is around the corner 👀

5️⃣ ways to easily integrate breathwork in to your day ✨

🌄 First thing when you wake up take a moment to check in with yourself. How’s your breath feeling? What’s the quality of those first thoughts like?
Rhythmic breathing for the win here….steady balanced breaths of 4 or 5 secs in and out.

☕️ Taking your tea or coffee practice breath awareness.
Simply get curious about your breathing, don’t try to change it… just witness the sensations of breathing. This is a great opportunity for more mindfulness throughout the day 💭

🚘🚃 Commuting is the perfect time to practice some diaphragmatic or ‘belly breathing’.
No need to focus too hard (seriously don’t do that, 👀 on road!) just soften your tummy and breathe deep.

🥙 Take 5 mins after you’ve eaten lunch. A box breath (4-4-4-4) would be perfect to regulate your nervous system and set your focus for the afternoon ahead.

🛌 Last thing before you sleep - calm your nervous system and set yourself up for some quality rest by elongating your exhalations.
I would suggest maybe a 4 second in breath and 6 second out breath for 5 mins. A bit of relaxing music is a lovely touch ✨

You can 100% practice breathwork.

I know your busy, I know you don’t need another thing on your list but with a little practice these are simple, really positive habits that will EASILY integrate in to your day.

Optimising sleep & circadian rhythm 😴

A lot of the people I see are struggling with sleep (either going to or staying asleep) so I hope this is helpful for all 🤞🏻

☀️ Light plays an important role in regulating our circadian rhythm, melatonin levels and our sleep cycles. Our brains are constantly interpreting the light entering our eyes to get a sense of what time of day it is, using this to regulate all of the corresponding bodily processes (hormones, hunger etc).

Today with our crazy work schedules, blue-light devices and artificial lights it can be really difficult to align our natural sleep-wake cycle ➡️ vital for physical and mental health.

Here's a couple of suggestions if you want to optimise your circadian rhythm 👇🏼

🌥 Get outside and bask in natural light as soon as you can in the morning - 5-10 mins is enough if it's sunny, or a little longer if it's overcast.

💡 If you wake up in the dark, turn on as many lights as you can when you wake up THEN get outside when the sun comes up.

🌅 Try to spend time outside during the latter hours before the sun goes down.

💻 Limit your use of devices in the evening, especially after 10pm. If you have to use them then turn the brightness RIGHT down.

🏃 Move your body first thing in the morning to feel alert and clear any remaining adenosine (sleep/wake regulatory molecule) in your body.

☕️ If waking and not exercising, try to delay your first caffeine hit for about 90 mins. This enables adenosine to leave the body. It really helps to alleviate those 3pm energy slumps and the caffeine/sugar hit that follows.

🕰. Practice a solid bedtime routine. This tells the body what to expect and sets off a chain of reactions that prepare you for sleep.

I would suggest incorporating some form of breathwork or mindfulness practice within this to regulate the nervous system and increase readiness for sleep.

Here’s a little insight in to how I approach breathwork coaching 💭👆🏼

You don’t have to be an athlete, CEO or sage to utilise the incredible energy of your breath.

Breathwork is becoming THE go-to practice for high-performers and wellbeing enthusiasts but it’s super accessible - basically free and always there (like literally, right there 🫁)

In my mind, a high performer turns up with enthusiasm, drive and willingness to grow every day - in all areas of life.

The parents, teachers, the office-workers and the labourers …. We are all capable of better health, more vitality and more greatness.

Create your reality ✨💭

I’m a big believer that we are just as responsible for what we feed our mind as we are for what goes in our mouth.

We have a responsibility to seek out and consume the most valuable, most nourishing content if we want our reality to be one of positivity and growth.

If you can identify with having negative or sabotaging self-talk then you will know just how effective a single thought can be - the same is true in reverse.

What we fill our mind with ultimately becomes our experience 💭📺🎶📖👩🏽‍🤝‍👨🏼

If you’re out there filling your mind with junk, you’re gonna get more of that junk reflected back to you.

Seek out the good stuff - books, conversations, fill your mind with positive affirmations and songs that make your heart swell with emotion.

👏🏼 CHALLENGE THAT NEGATIVE CHATTER and talk to yourself like you actually like the person you are.

Create the reality you want.

That’s not always the easiest path but it’s the one worth taking.

If I can offer one suggestion to you then it would be this: guard those hours before sleep with your life ‼️when it comes to sleep quality and those moments when we’re lying there awake with just our thoughts, they matter.

Ditch the devices, turn down the lights, read, write, have a bath, listen to music, have a great conversation, meditate, move, breathe…

We are 100% in control of the quality of what we’re consuming ✨

When you breathe better, you feel better, focus better, achieve better and rest better ✨

The best bit is that you don’t have to be a guru or a Navy Seal to harness it. Your breath is RIGHT THERE and you can begin unlocking it’s potential whenever you want.

It’s available to you right now, it’s free and there’s absolutely nothing stopping you (except perhaps yourself) from making the choice to harness it.

We live in a world that tends to wait until we are sick, unhappy or worn out to take action - that’s (I think) really sad.

Why do we wait when we could be owning our own potential?

Life will always move in seasons - times to push, times to float and times to cling on for dear life. There will always be a better time to start.

Having a child has rocked my world (anyone else think they knew what busy was pre-kids 😂) but it’s really brought home how vital it is to not just show up for myself but to be my best for her too. So as life gets more full on - so too does the need to take MORE care, not less.

Breathwork is quickly becoming the go-to practice for high performers (yes momma, YOU are a high performer!) for building and maintaining optimal health.
