Hi lovely people!

You may have noticed I've not been here for a while. Life was unexpectedly turned upside down for me so I had to take a step back from my business and focus on my boys and myself.

Due to these circumstances I've had to go back to a full time accounting job and outside of that all of my time and energy is for my two gorgeous boys ❤️

I have thought long and hard as to whether I could change the way I run Rock Your Birth so that I can continue doing what I love but right now I just don't have the physical or emotional capacity to provide the support that I love to give to the pregnant couples I work with 😞

I can't bring myself to say that Rock Your Birth will cease to exist but for now it has to remain on hold.

So until I have made the very difficult decision as to what to do I just want to say the biggest heartfelt thank you to every one of you that chose me to guide and support you, every one of you that follows my account and every one of you that has provided me with support and cheerleading over the last 6 years of running my business.

❤️ Happy Saturday ❤️

I don't normally post at the weekend but I've not posted here for what feels like ages!

But I want you to know that I'm still here!

👉 I'm still guiding, supporting and cheerleading pregnant couples as they prepare for their births however they happen 💪

👉 With three refresher sessions this month and a group course I'm busy doing what I love and haven't had much time to be here on social media 😊

This morning I'm all set up ready for a hypnobirthing refresher session with one of my previous lovely couples! So I'm off to put the kettle on ready for them to arrive 🥰

🎉 𝗜'𝗺 𝗮 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 🎉

Hello 👋its been a while since I posted, the last week of school, work and life was hectic and then we went away for half term but I'm back and this amazing news popped into my inbox 🥰

I am so happy to have been selected as a finalist for this award after being nominated 🥰

👉 Education is one of the core areas of my hypnobirthing courses and antenatal breastfeeding workshops

👉 Having knowledge completely changes how you feel!

👉 And how you feel ripples in to every aspect of pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and parenthood.

👉 It impacts you emotionally but it also impacts you physically too.

One of my recent dads to be said 'KNOWLEDGE IS POWER' and I absolutely agree! Do you? Let me know in the comments 👇

👉 My youngest took this photo tonight so I thought I'd use it to reintroduce myself after having some lovely new followers 😊

👋 I'm Anna a hypnobirthing teacher and mindful breastfeeding practitioner

I live in Stoke Prior, Worcestershire with my hubby, two sons, our dog Bella and cat Buddy 🐾

I ❤️ reading, dark chocolate, cheese and biscuits, long soaks in the bath, aromatherapy candles and walking in the countryside with Bella.

I also love being by the sea 🌊 I find it truly relaxing. Cornwall is my happy place 🥰 In fact its a family happy place.

👉 My passion for hypnobirthing began after my own experiences... My hubby and I attended hypnobirthing courses to prepare for both of our births. I'll be forever grateful for stumbling upon it after googling how to feel less scared about birth! It completely changed how I felt (I'll share more on that another day 😊).

👉 Rock Your Birth is my own creation, independent, unique and driven by my wish to make birth something people feel calm, capable and ready for! 💪

So that's a bit about me 😊.

Let's about gorgeous smells! 🥰

👉 In my hypnobirthing sessions I diffuse a gorgeous essential oil blend called 'Calming Power' which is a pregnancy safe blend created by

👉 I also have the same blend in a spray which I spray and keep in the downstairs loo 😊

👉 This blend is a mix of rose geranium, lavender and frankincense and helps to promote feelings of calm, relaxation and balance (all helpful things to feel in pregnancy and birth!)

👉 Smell is a powerful sense that can totally transform how you feel!

👉 Smell can also act as an anchor. So when I use it during sessions it becomes familiar, in sessions my couples are learning and feel relaxed and calm, they then use the same blend when they enjoy their nightly hypnobirthing practice, where they are relaxed and safe in bed at home and if they then use the same blend during their birth... It will trigger the memories and feelings they experienced from all of the times they smelt this oil previously 🥰

👉 My couples always comment on how lovely my house smells but what's even better is knowing that those gorgeous smells are helping create helpful anchors ready to enjoy in pregnancy and birth 🥰

I'm so passionate about the effect of smell on our emotions and birth that all of my couples get a 'Calming Power' rollerball in their gift bag so that they can take it wherever they go ❤️

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘅 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 🤔

At this time of year for me it would be a nice soak in a bubble bath, getting my pjays on, lighting an aromatherapy candle, then snuggling under a blanket on the sofa with a hot drink and my hubby to watch tv 🥰

But tonight we're off out for a belated birthday meal for my hubby with friends 🎉

𝗖𝗮𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵

If birth doesn't happen vaginally some women might feel like this about their birth (these are all things I've heard women say) 👇

👉 They cheated
👉 They didn't really give birth
👉 They failed
👉 Their body failed

None of those things 👆 are true!

I wanted to share what I say to my hypnobirthing couples in their very first session, in case it helps should you ever find yourself feeling any of these things 👇

❤️ HOWEVER your baby comes into this world you BIRTH them 👇

❤️ BIRTH is about BRINGING A NEW LIFE INTO THE WORLD from your AMAZING BODY which GREW that new life.

❤️ You are AMAZING! Always remember that.

𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿👇

Last night there wasn't much in the cupboards but I managed to rustle up this veggie curry 😋

👉 You may have been told that eating a curry will start your labour?

👉 If you enjoy eating curry then eat one if you fancy it... When you eat ANY food that you love that will get your birth hormones flowing!

👉 The theory is that if you eat a really spicy curry it might irritate your bowel and your uterus is next to bowel 😳

👉 But there is NO EVIDENCE to support that eating a spicy curry will get your birth started!

👉 And If you blow your head off with the spiciest curry you've ever eaten the only thing your likely to end up with is a curry bum 😍

This was a conversation that come up in Monday nights hypnobirthing session as my couples tucked into cookies 😍

Cravings that were shared...

👉 Chip shop chips and curry sauce (one partner had even driven for an hour one evening to find somewhere to buy some for his partner 😊).
