This Arthritis Awareness Month, we’re highlighting how acupuncture may help support people living with arthritis. 🩵

How acupuncture works: Fine needles stimulate the pain receptors, encouraging the release of natural pain-relieving chemicals, including endorphins. This may help reduce pain, ease stiffness, improve mobility, and promote relaxation — helping you move with greater comfort and confidence.

When combined with physiotherapy and movement-based treatment, medical acupuncture can form part of an effective approach to managing arthritis symptoms and supporting everyday function.

Small steps. Big difference.
Book your assessment today and let’s support your joint health together.

Spondylosis is a condition caused by gradual wear and tear of the spine over time. It commonly affects the neck and lower back, leading to stiffness, pain, and reduced movement.

If left unmanaged, symptoms can worsen and begin to affect daily activities, posture, and overall mobility.

Common symptoms include:

* Neck or lower back pain
* Stiffness, especially after rest
* Reduced flexibility and movement
* Pain that may spread to the shoulders, arms, or legs
* Muscle tightness or discomfort during activity

Physiotherapy can help reduce pain, improve mobility, strengthen supporting muscles, and guide safe posture and movement.

Early management is important to help you stay active, move comfortably, and protect your spine health. 💙

Hip Osteoarthritis is a condition where the cartilage in the hip joint gradually wears down over time. If neglected, it can progress into a “whole joint disease,” affecting not only the cartilage but also changing bone shape and weakening the surrounding connective tissues.

It commonly causes pain in the groin, hip, or thigh area and can affect walking and everyday movement.

Common symptoms include:

* Pain during walking or standing
* Stiffness after rest
* Reduced hip movement
* Difficulty with stairs or bending

Physiotherapy plays an important role in managing osteoarthritis by focusing on pain reduction, movement improvement, and joint protection.

Treatment may include:
• Strengthening exercises for surrounding muscles
• Joint mobility and flexibility exercises
• Pain relief techniques
• Education on activity modification and joint protection

Osteoarthritis should not be neglected, as it can progress into a “whole joint disease” affecting not only the cartilage, but also changing bone shape and weakening connective tissues.

The aim of physiotherapy is to help patients move more comfortably, reduce stiffness, and maintain independence in daily life.

Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis. It happens when the cartilage that cushions your joints slowly wears down over time.

It usually affects the knees, hips, spine, and hands, making everyday movements more difficult.

Common symptoms include:
• Pain during movement
• Stiffness, especially in the morning or after rest
• Swelling and reduced flexibility

Osteoarthritis develops gradually, but managing it early can help reduce pain and keep you moving comfortably.
