In November we will be moving over to Electronic Prescriptions (known as EPS). You will nominate a chosen pharmacy and any prescriptions whether on repeat medication or an acute issue given on the day will be sent electronically without the need for you to have a paper prescription. There will be no right hand side of the prescription given to you unless you request it via the pharmacy or in the surgery.

If you have not already done so please download the NHS Wales App which is available on both the Apple store and the Google Play store. This will make it so much easier for you to order your prescriptions. You will not have to contact the surgery or a pharmacy you just request them on the APP.

The NHS Wales App replaced My Health Online which was well used by patients to order prescriptions. Hopefully, the NHS Wales APP will be used more fully to make the ordering of your prescriptions a more slicker process.

Flu / covid appointment invite update.

We were hoping to send appointment links for patients to book directly for an appointment, but the system we have to use has its limitations. It is not possible for us to currently send the link more than 4 weeks ahead. We are hoping this may be extended to 6 weeks in the near future.

In the meantime we will be sending messages for patients to reply to and we will provide them with a time of an appointment on the day they choose. Due to the staff time this will take, we will be sending them in batches. At the moment we only have Saturday clinics on our system, but will be having other days available soon.

You are free to telephone to book directly, but please leave it until after 11:00 a.m. when our phone lines are less busy. The only dates you can currently book are:

Broughton clinics - Saturday 4th and 18th October
Buckley clinics - Saturday 11th and 25th October

It is not possible for us to start any earlier as we have to follow the guidance set by Welsh Government who state we cannot vaccinate until 1st October.

Sorry, for any inconvenience this causes.

We will be starting to send invitations via text in the next few days for flu/covid appointments. You will be able to to book directly in to an appointment for a flu or a flu and covid vaccination, if you are eligible for both. Even if you only want one of the vaccinations please still book via the link.

You are only eligible for a covid vaccination in the autumn if you are 75 and over or if you are classed as immunosuppressed. We do not know what covid vaccine we are getting at the moment.

If you have relatives who have mobile telephones but do not often use them, we would be grateful if you could encourage them to look out for the invites. We will of course try other methods of contacting patients if this way is unsuccessful.

If you choose to not have the vaccination(s) you will also have the opportunity to decline them.

We would like to remind everyone to please exercise greater care and attention when parking.

Recently, a staff member’s vehicle again was accidentally damaged in the car park. Incidents like this can be both costly and stressful, and we want to ensure the parking area remains a safe and respectful environment for everyone.

Clearly, whoever hit the car would have been aware of it, which is extremely disappointing that they did not have the courage to admit to it.
