Everyone meet Eve !

Eve is our new sports massage therapist who will be jointing us at the end of the month. She will be working with us on a Tuesday and we can’t wait for her to start. 🫶

Eve’s approach is all about helping you reconnect with your body. She takes an effective and holistic approach to support healing and restore balance in your body. Eve is also an APPI certified Pilates instructor where her classes focus on mindful, efficient movement, helping you feel stronger, understand your movement patterns, and learn to recover faster.

𝐏𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐜 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲🤰🏻

During pregnancy, the pelvis undergoes various changes to accommodate the growing fetus and prepare for birth. These changes are primarily hormonal and also structural in nature.

𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬: The hormone relaxin is released during pregnancy, which helps to relax ligaments in the pelvic area. This hormonal change allows the pelvic bones to become more flexible, aiding in the widening of the pelvis to make room for the baby during delivery.

𝐏𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐜 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Later in pregnancy a condition known as symphysis p***s dysfunction (SPD) may occur which is characterised by pain and discomfort in the pelvic region due to pressure and separation of the pelvic bones.

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: The joints in the pelvic region may experience increased mobility due to hormonal changes which can cause discomfort and instability.

𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬: As the uterus expands and the baby grows, the woman’s centre of gravity shifts forward. This can affect the alignment of the pelvic bones and joints and contribute to changes in gait and stability.

As 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 we assess issues related to the pelvis and changes that happen to the body during pregnancy to get mum feeling her best. We aim to improve alignment, reduce pain and enhance overall function of the body until the mother is ready to give birth.

Last weekend chiropractors Rachel and Thomas attended the annual Edinburgh lectures at Norton house. What a fantastic weekend it was !

Over 100 chiropractors all together learning and sharing knowledge in all aspects health and wellbeing. It was also great to meet some aspiring students from the Scottish chiropractic college. The seminar finished with a sit down meal and a ceilidh in the evening. Everyone loved the strip the willow to finish the evening 💃

A big shout out to all the speakers - it was inspiring and fab to meet you all.

Closed today !

We are closed today as our chiropractors attend the annual Edinburgh Lectures conference all weekend.
We will try and share some snaps of the weekend as we spend quality time learning and refreshing some skills with other local chiros.

We will be back open again on Monday 9th June

💙HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABSOLUTE CHIROPRACTIC 💙

Today our beautiful clinic turns 1! Yes we have been open a whole year now - Time flies.

This is such a huge milestone for us and something we are super proud of at absolute chiropractic. Absolute chiropractic is everything it is because of our wonderful patients, supportive family and our amazing team.

So whether you have been a patient for a while or are new to us, we want to say a HUGE thank you for being part of our family !!

Here's to many more years the journey is just begining !
