Very exciting news for the Stuart Millar Physiotherapy Team! After over 10 years of welcoming patients into the clinic at 62a Dundee Road in Broughty Ferry, we are absolutely delighted to be the proud owners of the clinic premises.

We would like to sincerely thank Mike and Fenella McDonald for their kind and generous hosting over the last ten years, and for choosing us to sell the property to.

Further thanks goes to our receptionist, Irene (also my mother in law) who keeps things running like clockwork - she is seen here celebrating with us with a well deserved glass of fizz in hand! We are so delighted to celebrate this occasion with her and my sister, Lindsey and brother in law, Jim who are supporting us in this investment, for which we are forever grateful.

And most importantly of all - thank you to all my patients for your support over the last 10 years. Here is to the next chapter for Stuart Millar Physiotherapy!

Not my usual sort of post but sharing for another small business in the Ferry. Calling all parents of 4-7 year olds looking for a space at a camp this summer - Claire has one space left at her Storybook Camp which runs on Thursday and Friday this week 10-3.

Our daughter goes to Claire’s classes on a weekly basis and she is absolutely fantastic, very homely set up, Claire is great with the kids and has the ‘best fruit platters ever’. We would highly recommend.

West Queen Street - Road Closure

Please note that West Queen Street is closed in both directions between Victoria Road to Claypotts Road for 6 weeks.

Therefore, if you are travelling from the Broughty Ferry centre/Monifieth direction to the clinic you will be diverted. Diversions are in place to direct you along Strathern Road but divert traffic as far as the Stannergate! Please note you can access the clinic/parking by coming off Strathern Road at Grove Road/Balmyle Road - a much shorter route!

There are many forms of psychological therapy (the treatment of emotional and psychological disorders, unwanted habits and undesirable feelings, using psychological techniques) but Hypnotherapy is distinctive in that it attempts to address the client’s subconscious mind. In practice the Hypnotherapist often (but not exclusively) requires the client to be in a relaxed state and frequently enlists the power of the clients own imagination and may use a wide range of techniques for beneficial change. Techniques may be used to uncover problems deemed to lie in the clients past or therapy may concentrate more on a clients current life and presenting problems. Here are just some of the areas Jacqui can help with.

Hope everyone had a happy Easter!

Just an update from us on the wearing of face masks in clinic as this guidance is stepped down in Scotland from today.

In line with guidance from the Scottish Government in place from Monday 18 April, as the clinic is a primary health care setting we kindly request that patients continue to wear a face covering (unless exempt) when attending the clinic. This is due to these settings hosting more clinically vulnerable individuals, for whom COVID-19 infection still poses a greater risk. All staff in the clinic will be continuing to wear the appropriate PPE.

Please see this link for more information - https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-interim-guidance-on-the-extended-use-of-face-masks-in-hospitals-and-care-homes/pages/more-information-questions-and-answers/

Thank you for your understanding!

Guidance for staff within acute hospitals, community hospitals, primary care and wider community care, together with advice for visitors, including those attending for an appointment.
