We’ve been so touched by a very special project here at Broxbourne Nursing Home 💜

Our residents have been busy knitting beautiful, soft blankets for premature babies at The Princess Alexandra Hospital 👶 It’s a truly meaningful activity for everyone involved, and we’d love a little community support to help us keep it going.

We are kindly asking for donations of knitting needles and wool or yarn, with all colours very welcome. Every donation will help us continue creating something full of love, care and comfort for the tiniest little ones 💒

If you would like to support us, donations can be dropped off at reception or you can contact Jackie on 07506 431070.

We had such a lovely Easter egg hunt here at Broxbourne Nursing Home 🐇🐣

Despite the slightly chilly weather, everyone wrapped up warm and got stuck into the fun. Children from Tiny Tots Day Care Nursery , along with family members and staff children, were all out in the garden searching for 120 hidden eggs and even a surprise bunny! It quickly turned into such an exciting and joyful activity, with plenty of little cheers and discoveries along the way 😊

Our amazing residents loved being part of it too, joining in with their families and enjoying the lively atmosphere. There was a lovely moment at the end as everyone helped count the eggs together and share them out fairly, which felt really special 💜

To warm up afterwards, we all enjoyed hot chocolate and biscuits, which went down a treat after all that searching ☕🍪

Before heading off, the children were already asking when the next Easter egg hunt would be… and we think that says it all 😄🐣

There are days that stay with you long after they’ve ended, and our recent ladies’ day out was truly one of them 💜

Earlier this week, a group of our wonderful residents set off together for a special trip back to the ODEON Cinemas , a place they had been eager to revisit after speaking so fondly about their last visit. This time, they chose to watch Reminder of Him, a film they had been looking forward to seeing again, sharing not just a story on screen but a meaningful experience together 🎥💜

From the moment the lights dimmed, the room was filled with warmth and connection. There were quiet whispers about favourite scenes, gentle laughter shared over popcorn and drinks, and those lovely little glances between friends that say everything without a word. It wasn’t just about the film, it was about togetherness, comfort and joy in the moment 🍿😊

On the journey home, the conversations continued as everyone reflected on what they had watched. Some residents were deeply moved, others spoke about the characters and moments that stayed with them, but every single person agreed it had been a day well spent. There was a real sense of happiness, pride in getting out and about, and gratitude for sharing such a special outing together 🚌✨

Days like these remind us why we do what we do. At Gold Care Homes, we are proud to create opportunities for meaningful experiences that bring joy, connection and a true sense of family. March has been a truly special month across our homes, filled with meaningful celebrations and shared experiences that have brought residents and teams together ✨

From raising awareness during Nutrition and Hydration Week to enjoying the energy and fun of St Patrick’s Day, there has been something for everyone to take part in. We also proudly celebrated International Women’s Day, recognising the inspiring women within our communities, and marked Mother’s Day with thoughtful moments of love, gratitude, and reflection 🌷 🚺 🍎 🍀

Life across our 46 homes is shaped by these moments, both big and small. They create a sense of belonging, spark conversation, and bring joy to everyday life, making each home a vibrant and supportive place to live 🏡💜

We had such a lovely afternoon at Broxbourne Nursing Home as we welcomed 12 students from The John Warner School and their teacher, Jill 🐣

Everyone got stuck into some Easter arts and crafts together... We were making cards, decorating eggs and putting together some lovely decorations for around our home.

It was really nice to see how quickly our residents and the students got chatting. There was lots of laughter, plenty of conversation and a few cakes enjoyed along the way too 🍰

One of the nicest moments was seeing everyone exchange Easter gifts, which meant a lot to both our residents and the students.

By the end of the afternoon, it was clear no one really wanted it to end and we’re already looking forward to welcoming them back again soon 💜

Happy Birthday to Stephen and Douglas 🎂🥳

Today in our home, we came together to celebrate two very special people, Stephen and Douglas, surrounded by friends, family and our caring team. From the moment the celebrations began, the room was filled with warm wishes, smiling faces and a real sense of joy as everyone gathered to make their day truly memorable 💜

Music played, feet tapped and a little dancing brought laughter and energy to the occasion, while residents and guests enjoyed a selection of refreshments together. The highlight of the day was sharing a delicious birthday cake, creating a lovely moment for everyone to join in and celebrate side by side 🎶🍰

It was a wonderful day full of happiness, connection and celebration, leaving Stephen and Douglas feeling truly cherished on their special day 🎉😊

At Broxbourne Nursing Home , a recent day trip to the cinema turned into a wonderful adventure filled with laughter, excitement and shared joy 🎥💜

Our lovely residents eagerly set off for a special outing to the ODEON Cinemas , looking forward to an afternoon of entertainment and a change of scenery. The anticipation was clear from the start, with smiles and chatter as everyone settled in, ready for the big screen experience 🍿✨

With popcorn, drinks and snacks in hand, residents enjoyed watching the comedy film “Mother’s Pride,” quickly becoming immersed in the story. Laughter echoed throughout the cinema as funny moments unfolded, with residents happily commenting on their favourite scenes and sharing the experience together 😄

It was more than just a trip out, it was a chance to relax, connect and create joyful memories in a different setting. A truly enjoyable day for everyone involved, filled with smiles, laughter and great company 💜

Mother’s Day at Broxbourne Nursing Home was a truly heart-warming celebration as residents, their children and members of the local community came together to honour the wonderful mothers who are such an important part of our home. The special occasion brought families together in a warm and joyful atmosphere, creating meaningful moments of connection, appreciation and love 💐❤

The celebration featured an elegant high tea where our lovely residents and their guests enjoyed a delightful selection of cakes, mini rolls and freshly prepared sandwiches, all complemented by glasses of champagne. The beautifully arranged refreshments created the perfect setting for families to relax, chat and celebrate the incredible women at the centre of the day 🍰🥂

As a thoughtful gesture from the home, flowers were presented to each of our lovely ladies, bringing bright smiles and touching moments of appreciation. The bouquets were a small but meaningful way to recognise the love, strength and care that mothers and mother figures have shared throughout their lives 🌹

The atmosphere was made even more special with wonderful live music as Paul performed a selection of songs that filled the room with emotion and nostalgia. His performance brought both joyful laughter and a few heartfelt tears, as familiar melodies sparked treasured memories for residents and their loved ones 🎶

Throughout the afternoon, mothers and their children shared stories, laughter and cherished memories, making the celebration truly unforgettable. It was a beautiful reminder of the power of family, community and the importance of celebrating the remarkable women who mean so much to us all at Broxbourne Nursing Home 💟
