On 23rd February, we’re proud to mark Breastfeeding Network’s Helpline Awareness Day 💜

The Breastfeeding Network runs the National Breastfeeding Helpline in partnership with the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers providing free, independent, trained peer support for families, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Because feeding questions don’t just happen in the daytime.

🌙 Since launching overnight support:

✨ 4 in 10 callers have babies under 15 days old
✨ 82% are seeking support from an independent, trained person with infant feeding experience
✨ 93% say they felt less distressed or anxious by the end of the call
✨ 99% describe overnight support as extremely helpful
✨ 98% are satisfied or extremely satisfied with the support received
✨ Nearly one quarter of callers are from the most deprived communities

One third of callers contact the helpline more than once showing the trust families place in this compassionate, non-judgemental service.

This Helpline Awareness Day, help us spread the word. Whether it’s 2pm or 2am, no parent should feel alone.

💜 Save the number.
💜 Let families know support is always there.

Toilet Training Tips 🚽
Check out these helpful tips from ERIC UK to support your little one on their toilet training journey:

🚻 Get them involved: Start by letting your child help with changing their nappy. Change them standing up, let them assist with clothing, and wash hands together afterward.
🚻 Talk about potty time: Use the right words for wee and poo. Let your child know if their nappy is wet or dry and talk about what’s inside.
🚻 Use a reward system: Create a fun reward system like a sticker chart or lucky dip. Celebrate each milestone, like getting dressed or washing hands!
🚻 Read potty training books: Find picture books about potty training and enjoy them together!
🚻 Reach out for support: Talk to your health visitor or children's centre for additional advice.

Measles spreads easily and can make children seriously unwell, but it’s preventable.

👉 Get the latest advice from the NHS here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/measles/

The best way to protect your child is to make sure their vaccinations are up to date. The MMR vaccine is safe, effective, and offers strong protection against measles.

Not sure if your child has had both MMR doses? Think they may have missed one?
