As many of you will know the 2025 Scottish Tournament will be held between two venues with Black Belt Adults competing on Friday 23 May at the Bathgate Dojang and everyone else competing at Winchburgh Sports and Wellbeing Hub on Saturday 24 May 2025.
We expect most people travelling will already be familiar with Bathgate as the tournament has been held there for the past three years, Winchburgh will be a new location for most so we hope to give a little information to help with travel plans.
For those who have travelled to the Scottish Tournament in recent years, it is likely that any accommodation you used for the Bathgate Tournament will also be suitable for Winchburgh.
Winchburgh is located around 10 miles from the Bathgate dojang and is about a 20 minute drive away.
Bathgate and Livingston both have Premier Inns that are within a 20minute drive of both venues so would provide a good base. There are other hotels in both towns, but good value rooms are often harder to find.
Other locations to consider include Falkirk, Edinburgh, and anywhere in West Lothian.
Winchburgh enjoys good transport links with both the M9 and M8 motorways and is situated 6 miles from the Forth Road Bridge.
For those using public transport, the X38 bus that runs between Falkirk and Edinburgh stops at Winchburgh right outside the Sports Hub. Although Winchburgh is growing rapidly there is currently no railway station, the nearest stations are Uphall Station and Linlithgow, both around 5 miles from the venue, and both have good links with Edinburgh and Glasgow.
There is a large Sainsburyโs store very near to the venue and there will also be catering vans on the day. The sports hub is in a complex with three schools and there should be sufficient parking across the site.
We hope this post is helpful, but please do get in touch if we can help with your travel plans. We look forward to seeing everyone in May and welcoming you to the village.
