So pleased to hear feedback that Bowen also helps with long covid symptoms. My client, who has been suffering with a tight chest since having Covid can, for the first time since October last year, finally take a full breath and has been able to since her treatment 5 days ago 😀

Well that's my first client treated with the new regime in place. It's good to be back 😊

10/07/2020

To all my lovely clients,

Firstly I am looking forward to opening on 14th July!

MY DIARY IS NOW OPEN! If anyone wants an appointment 🙂

Please take the time to read this if you are thinking of booking a treatment.

Further to my info on I posted earlier in the month on what to expect at your treatment. I have carried out a full COVID19 risk assessment and this is my updated protocol...

Grab yourself a cuppa and a biscuit, this will be a long one 😊

When you arrive for your treatment, please arrive on time, neither early or late. I need time to sanitise before your treatment and after. For info on what areas I will be sanitising, please ask.

Please DON'T COME if you or anyone you have had contact with has a high temperature or is showing symptoms of COVID19. Please DON'T COME if you have a compromised immune system or are at particular risk if you contract the virus, keep yourself safe at home.

Just before your arrival I will have sanitised my hands fully and I will be wearing a disposable apron and a mask.

When you arrive I will take your temperature, if it is high we will need to rearrange and I advise you get yourself tested.

I will hand you a spray bottle, this bottle will have been fully sanitised with sanitiser which kills the COVID19 virus. This is the same sanitiser I will be using to sanitise my treatment room and other areas. This spray bottle contains 80% alcohol spray and is for your use throughout your treatment. You can use this to spray your hands before you enter and whenever you feel you need to during your time here.

I will ask you to put on a face covering, if you are not already wearing one. If you do not have one I can provide this. This is non negotiable at the moment in my treatment room, as I must protect myself for my family, other clients and people I work with in my other job.

I will invite you to enter and go through to the treatment room, I will follow, keeping a 2m distance.

When entering the treatment room I will direct you to sit at the opposite end of the room. We can now have our initial consultation. During this consultation I shall add your contact details to my record so I have a quickly accessible guide of who I saw on what day in case this info is needed for track and trace. I will destroy this info when I no longer am required to keep it. When I do a postural assessment I will stand behind you and to the side, never facing you.

You can now lay on the massage table and treatment can begin. I will, as do anyway, be leaving the room between moves. The window will wide open during your treatment, whatever the weather, if you think you may get cold, please bring something to cover you, please wash it before hand and take it home with you. I will not be providing any type of material items for this purpose.

I will not be able to perform any part of your treatment which involves touching your face. The moves I carry out on the neck will be carried out at the end of the treatment, when you are seated so that I may do these from behind rather than above, this will continue until the Government changes their guidelines on this and may even later, depending on when I feel it is safe to do so.

If you need the toilet during your treatment, feel free to use the facilities, which will all have been sanitised before your arrival. Please take your spray with you. Flush the toilet with the lid down and spray your hands before leaving the toilet to enter the bathroom to wash your hands and use the disposable hand towels to dry, then respray your hands.

Upon leaving I will hand you a nappy bag to dispose of your mask (if you have not provided your own) you can put this in the no touch bin at the front door and I will ask you to put your spray in the bowl of sanitiser.

Once you have gone I will, put on gloves, remove all disposable items, couch roll etc take off the PPE I used to treat you and put on new to sanitise all areas before the next client.

I will be tested for COVID19 once a week (although this has not started yet) Obviously if I am positive or anyone at my other job tests positive, I will be locking down by business again with immediate effect. Until I know it is safe to reopen.

If you would like any more details or info or would like a list of any of the ingredients used in my sanitiser or alcohol spray, please ask.

Due to the size and space in my treatment room, for the moment I will only be having 1 person in at a time. This means anyone you bring with you must wait outside the house and unfortunately it means that currently I cannot accommodate or treat children 😔
Also at this time I will not be making any mobile visits.

Thank you for reading to the end. It all sounds very complicated written down, but once in the swing of things, it will all become very normal, I'm sure :-)

I look forward to seeing you all soon 😀

Woohooo! I can open my treatment room again and will be taking appointments from Tuesday 14th July. If you expressed a wish to go on my waiting list I will be contacting you shortly. Once I have everyone booked in I will open availability up to everyone else. Hope to see you all soon!

12/06/2020

To all my wonderful clients.

I will tentatively be opening my practice again soon hopefully, no date as yet....

Obviously there will be some changes to your treatment, a shortened version of what you should expect will be listed below. If you would like a full version of my policies and procedures please let me know and I can provide this.

Firstly, I will be increasing my prices for the first time in 9 yrs to help with the cost of PPE, cleaning products and the extra time booked for each appointment. I will be increasing my price by £5, to £40 a treatment. I hope everyone understands... 🤞🤞

I will be allowing 2 hrs for each treatment, to include half an hour for full disinfection with an approved COVID19, unfragranced sanitiser in all relevant areas.

When you arrive I will take your temperature. If it is 37.8°c or above, we will have to cancel the treatment and rebook in no less than 14 days, I would also highly recommend you get yourself tested.

I will spray your hands with alcohol spray and ask you to put on a mask, which I will provide.

I will direct you to the bathroom to wash your hands and to dry using the disposable towels provided. There will be alcohol spray (80% WHO approved formula) for you to use also.

I will take you through to the treatment room. The bed will be covered a disposable breathable cover and couch roll all of which be be disposed of outside between treatments. I will also wear a mask, have taken my temperature, be wearing a disposable plastic apron and will have washed and sanitised my hands.

Now that we're all prepped and dressed up for open heart surgery, we can now hopefully relax and you can enjoy your treatment ☺

After treatment I take you to the front door, where I will once again spray your hands with alcohol spray and ask you to take off your mask and place it in a biodegradable bag and put into the no touch at the bin at the door.

I am trying hard to source biodegradable plastic alternatives, but unfortunately everywhere is currently out of of stock. As soon as I get the opportunity to, I will replace as many plastics as I can with more eco friendly alternatives.

I know this sounds very complicated written out like this, but hopefully, once I get into routine, it will become 2nd nature 😉

I am really looking forward to getting back to work and seeing you all soon..

Stay safe

Cara xx

Little impromptu Bowen session today with a colleague at my other job...
She was born with club foot and also had a flat foot due to her Achilles tendon being too short... she underwent a operation 2 years ago to correct this. But still walks with a limp when tired. Today, we did a quick 5 minute treatment and she walked after a 12hr shift with no limp at all :-) You can see that she has a twist, causing her left thigh to protrude further than her right, she also had tightness on the left side, caused by this. After treatment, you can see, this is now perfectly symmetrical and her left side was much softer to the touch :-)

One amazing man ♥️

On this day in 1916, Thomas Ambrose Bowen was born. He is fondly remembered by those of us who have made his work our life's work, and by all who have been helped and healed by the Bowen technique. Thank you, Mr. Bowen.

Ooo! Very excited with my first try of MSTR (Mcloughlin Scar Tissue Release) Before pic taken 10mins before after pic. I didn't make it through the whole first set of moves due to reactions. But there is a definite, immediate change to the scar tissue!

09/04/2019

Very excited to be doing a course in Mcloughlin scar tissue release tomorrow!! I have had amazing results with my own c-section scar and can't wait to be able to be able to offer this treatment out to my clients!

Lovely day today dealing with all sorts of issues... Sciatica, tight psoas, injured wrist, a general MOT, a frozen shoulder and bursitis. Not everyone feels immediately better after a Bowen treatment, it can take a few days... But when you get a day where everyone feels immediately much better and leaves aligned and with very little to no pain, it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside :-) :-)

Dear Clients,

It has come to my attention that I may not be receiving all my private messages on my page, which is very frustrating as I can't seem to get it fixed :-(

If you have contacted me and I have not replied within a few hours, please text/call/WhatsApp me on 07801 855882.

Many thanks
Cara :-)

Client walks in for first treatment on crutches, client walks out carrying crutches and I even got a kiss and an 'I love you'. Love my job :-)

01/09/2017

So today I saw a lady suffering from searing nerve pain in her back and numbness and pins and needles in her leg and shoulder. She had not taken her usual cocktail of very strong drugs before treatment and she left with no pain and feeling back in her leg and no pins and needles in her leg or arm :-) :-)

01/08/2017

Feeling a bit smug :-)

Dr said my client may not gain back feeling or movement back in toes suffering from peripheral neuropathy.

1st Bowen session: small amount of movement gained.

2nd Bowen session. More movement gained and feeling back when I press on them with my nail, yay!
