Would like to say a big thankyou to Viv Nicholls for dropping off a large bag of toiletries and also the lady who also dropped off a shopping bag full of toiletries to us too. Im sorry I didn't take your name but thank you both for your kind generosity. We are still collecting if anyone else would like to give. Sadly, many residents in nursing and care homes don't have family or friends who visit them. In these cases, care homes do their best to provide essentials, but often, carers go above and beyond, sometimes even purchasing toiletries from their own income.
If you'd like to help, we are collecting donations of toiletries such as:
Shampoo
Conditioner
Shower gel
Talcum powder
Toothpaste & toothbrushes
Other personal care items
Every donation makes a real difference to someone's day.

Unfortunately this is something that is happening more often. Please respect the funeral cortege.

Sadly this is so heartbreakingly true 💔 Just lately we are having more and more drivers on the roads being impatient and trying to push in on the Funeral Cortège’s in between the Hearse and the Limousines with bereaved family members in, and even on funerals with our horses too.

This is happening to the point where accidents have nearly been caused because someone just wants to cut in or to cut through.

I appreciate we drive slower, but this is someone’s final journey, and this is done out of respect.

Whether this makes you 30 seconds, one minute or two minutes late for where you need to be, think about that person who has passed and the families that are following.

A final journey is so precious 🤍

Today, we pause to remember one of the darkest days in Welsh history — the Aberfan

We remember those young lives, full of promise, taken far too soon. We honour the strength of the Aberfan community — who, despite unbearable loss, found the courage to rebuild and ensure their children’s memories would never fade.

Today we reflect on the lives lost and the duty we all share to never forget.

Aberfan — you are not forgotten. Your children are not forgotten.

Why do we walk in front of the hearse?

Our Funeral Directors always walk ahead of the hearse, leaving our branches, arriving at the funeral venue, as well as other poignant places, gently guiding the cortege down the road.
This tradition is known as 'paging'. A deeply respectful gesture that symbolises our care and leadership as we accompany someone on their final journey.
Its not just about slowing traffic. Its about pausing the world, if only for a moment, to honour a life lived. Paging gives the family and community a chance to reflect, to show respect, and recognise the significance of the occasion.
At T J Brown & Sons we consider it a privilege to lead each procession with dignity, composure and pride. Its a small gesture but one that means everything.
