So many busy people can mask stress.
What do I mean by masking stress?
It means you don’t know you are stressed or carrying stress until something gives up in the body.
My client said to me that she hurt her back. She was in so much pain and couldn’t go to work.
I said that’s stress. Her response was, ‘but Annie I don’t feel stressed!’
I explained, sometimes you are so busy that there is no time to feel. But when you are recurring injury happens for no reason then that’s your body giving up and warning you that there is something going on in your life that you are unaware of.
I said you are stressed. You are a single parent, you are worried about your kid, you are studying, you have deadlines for your course work to complete plus you have to complete a certain number of therapies to complete to pass the course.
Sometimes we don’t know we are stressed because there is not time to stop and feel.
This is the most dangerous of stresses because it is masked.
So, are you masking stress? Are you aware of the stresses in your life or do you believe you are falsely resilient?

With my client there was a hidden contrast between a strong belief and strong desire that caused her to take contrasting actions. This led to masked stress which manifested in her body as back pain to get her to take a deeper look at was going on for her within her psyche.
It’s all interlinked and unless you are aware of how to solve these problems, they will get bigger and manifest as problems to solve.
