IT update - Friday 27 February

Thank you so much to all our patients for your patience during the transition to our new clinical system.

We are aware that there have been some difficulties - as expected - but we have worked very hard behind the scenes with our new IT partner to keep these to a minimum.

This evening we have continued working to iron out many of the remaining issues and we are so excited to go ‘fully live’ tomorrow.

The new online booking system is the first thing you will notice - much slicker.

You will need to register as a new patient the first time you use the new system (even if you have seen us before) but going forward you will have an account and will simply need your mobile number to book future appointments. We are sure you will love the new system.

The new patient portal will continue to be developed over coming weeks, enabling access to appointments (including cancelling and rescheduling) results, letters and more.

Appointment confirmations and reminders and lab results will be emailed in a new easy to read format.

We will shortly provide automated reminders for reviews and repeat prescriptions.

And the most exciting feature is still to come. We can’t wait to tell you all about it.

Improving the service we provide to you all is what Friday evenings were made for!

Due to illness across our receptionists we will have no telephone service today - including no answerphone facility.

Additionally, no further bookings will be taken today. We hope to resume normal service tomorrow. You can email us but please note that emails have a turnaround time of 1-3 days as standard.

In view of the lack of voicemail service, on this occasion we will endeavour to check and respond to any urgent emails by close of play today.

This time around we have a key update for you regarding a brand new clinical system plus a review of 2025 - our most successful year to date!

Just a quick post to say that we will be changing clinical IT system from 1st February, away from Semble, which is our existing solution.

The new system will confer huge benefits to our patients including:

- Quick and easy login removing the need to enter full details each time
- The ability to view results, letters and even consultation notes through a new portal
- Safer prescribing
- Automatic appointment recalls for follow-up e.g. medication reviews and many more.......

We are in the process of migrating nearly 12,000 patient records which is a big task but will try and make things as seamless as possible.

The online appointment booking system may look slightly different (particularly at first) and there may well be teething problems - please can you highlight any issues by phone or email if you come across them.

What a start to January! We are fully booked until close of play at 7.30pm today but we have availability for the rest of the week and will be opening into the evening on two days per week due to current demand. We are also open on Saturday again this weekend.
