Let movement be an exploration, not a destination ๐Ÿ™

Yoga isnโ€™t about perfect shapesโ€”itโ€™s about exploration. How does your body feel today? What shifts when you move with awareness?

Some sensations ask us to soften, some invite us to deepen. Neither is good or badโ€”just messages from the body. Pause. Adjust. Adapt. Let movement be a conversation, not a performance.

This is just a rough sequenceโ€”a starting point. Thereโ€™s so much more to yoga than what fits in a short video. But the best way to understand it? Step onto the mat. Feel for yourself.

How does movement feel for you today?

The art of being you ๐ŸŒŸ

- connecting to our inner selves, embracing our unique essence and understanding that we are all a part of something greater. It's about understanding that being yourself is not defined by surface-level characteristics, but feeling into adiscovering the deeper parts of yourself that make you whole.

For me, this journey is about mindfulness, self-reflection and learning to trust my intuition. I've come to embody the feeling that I am not just a physical being, but a spiritual one too. I am more than a yoga teacher, more than just a mother, a partner, a daughter or a woman, I am a soul on a journey of self-discovery.

I believe that we are all on a journey of self-discovery and that 'the art of being you' is about trusting in your unique path. Letting go of societal expectations and societal labels and embracing our true selves. For me, it's understanding that we are all connected and that our unique journey is a part of something greater.

I encourage you to take time to connect to your inner self and to trust the journey that you are on. Welcome the beauty of your unique path with arms wide, and trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

Hey all you yogis out there ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’ซ

I hope the holiday break was everything you needed and you were able to find some rest and relaxation in amongst the chaos.

As we enter the new year, I invite you to take the opportunity to create space in our hearts, minds, and bodies through the practice of yoga. Remember, you are exactly where you are meant to be in this moment. Trust in the journey and know that you are enough, just as you are!

I have been diving into my own practice and rituals over the Christmas break and have been filled with gratitude to have the chance to share the continually supportive practice of yoga with all of you.
Let's embrace the present moment, lean into acceptance and loving ourselves, through the highs and the lows together ๐Ÿค

Cant wait to see you all on the mat ๐Ÿ’ซ

Winter is a time for rest and drawing inwards. I for sure have been feeling these frequencies lately, after being plagued by this illness doing the rounds at the moment, I felt the pull to embrace the restorative side of Yoga.

For me, movement really resonates, I can feel the natural detoxifying affects it has on my mind, body and soul when I'm flowing on my mat, dancing around, walking in nature and breathing consciously. I can feel a lightness. Although there is much to be said for staying still, it's often in stillness where we truly have the chance to process. This last few weeks during my time of stillness, many insecurities, past grievances, heartbreaks have resurfaced. Its funny how we feel like we have delt with things and then there it is once again; I've reminded myself of something I once read in a book and often mention in class; "you may have to let go of something hundreds of times before you're truly ready to release it and thats okay"
I've been feeling into the fact that there is more to learn from those things that reoccur within our lives and mind, that require releasing over and over.

We all have ups and downs, valleys and peaks, dark and light moments, it's part of the cyclical nature of the universe. I love the diverse practice's of yoga for teaching me ways to manage, feel and be more aware of my reactions and responses. Releasing judgement of how I think I should cope and embracing how I actually cope, forever learning to love myself even in the more challenging moments.

There is no destination, only the journey and the lessons, awareness, laughs and community we create along the way.

YOGA Workshop// ๐ŸŒฟ

We bring to you our second workshop

George and I are teaming up once again, allowing you to experience two styles of teaching, this time the focus is on balance โš–๏ธ

We have curated a few sequences of balancing postures to guide you through. Breaking them down together, providing helpful tips and tricks to embrace those wobbels and find some steadiness. Taking time to reset the nervous system between peak postures using our breath and other yogic techniques. Keeping the nervous system calm can be a key element to finding that stability.

We will provide you with lots of space and time to explore the physical postures (asanas) whilst also exploring what balance means within the realms of yoga. We are all striving to find balance in our life, balance between work and play, rest and activity, effort and ease. The ancient yoga texts offer us insight into how to carve this balance into our life, not just in our practice on the mat but most importantly off the mat, we will explore together our take of the teachings, offering time to give your opinions and own perspective over a warm cup of tea at the end of the session.

Join us next Tuesday 5.30pm - 7.30pm

Remember all workshops at The Pearl Exchange are completely free and open to anyone (18-30s) building such a beautiful community of inspired adults.

// Beginners Yoga Workshop //

This workshop is open and free to anyone (18-30s) who is new to yoga or looking to deepen their current practice.

I will be teaming up with the lovely George to guide you through a Sun Salutation, breaking down each posture and helping you to find your own unique natural alignment, beginning to link our breath to our movement.

Syncing the breath with postures has a extremely meditative affect that helps us to drop out of thinking mind and into feeling the body, allowing us to experience a calming sense of oneness with the body, breath, mind and soul.

Our main aim is to help you to feel confident attending any yoga class with knowledge of the most commonly practiced postures and an insight into breathwork (pranayama).
There will be lots of time for you to get curious and ask questions, this is a completely open space where you can feel safe to express how each posture feels and get that extra bit of guidance.

Join us on Tuesday 18th October at 5.30pm - 7.30pm held at The Pearl Exchange. Head to the link in my bio to sign up now ๐Ÿ’ซ

// what is creativity to you? //

I've haven't always felt like a 'creative' person in the sense that my preconceived ideas of creativity have been painting, drawing, making clothes, all those art forms of creation. This is until lately, I've been working to change my mindset, embracing my slightly weird uniqueness and letting creativity carve my days, listening in to find that inner flow. I've realised that being creative can come in all shapes and sizes, you can be creative with the way you move through your day, your ways of thinking and performing daily activities can be creative. I guess, in a sense I've realised that, for me, creativity is freedom to let go of habitual ways of doing things, freedom to be open to new ideas & to other people's input. Letting go of ridgity in the mind and body births creativity.

The definition of creativity is; use of imagination or ideas to create something; inventiveness.

This 'something' can be anything, it doesnt have to be an object.

As children we were encouraged to use our imagination, a Childrens Yoga session is all about imagination but as adults I feel this is encouraged much less.
In a way I forgot how to use this imagination for a long while, meditation, and being around inspiring people helped me find this again - along with reading non-fiction books! Imagination is the key to creativity, we know that what we think & the stories our mind tells us, creates our reality. So, get creative with your thoughts, challenge yourself when you feel those rigid patterns coming in, such as I must do 'this' then 'this'. Imagine your life exactly the way you hope it to be and watch the creativity pour out to guide you along the path to create your dreams. It goes without saying that we meet challenges and not everything works the way we hope it too (for me I believe in everything is an opportunity to learn) but isn't that also part of being creative with your life, finding new ways to pick yourself up, &finding new creative ways to sit with yourself in the lows.

The Wide Legged Forward Fold// Upavistha Konasana //my arch nemesis ๐Ÿ˜…

Anyone have those few poses that just don't seem to suit your body?!

This posture is that for me along with many others. I used to just skip it out and avoid at all costs but since my revelation of actually using props I'm learning to find comfort in the unknown territory of this pose.
Not everyone can achieve every pose exactly how it looks in the magazines and fancy insta photos and that is totally okay, revel in your uniqueness. Our skeletal shape and nervous system responses often depict and limit our range of movement, that's why it can be really benifical to calm the body/mind with pranayama (breathing techniques), mudras and mindfulness before venturing into those more challenging postures for your body.

I've found using blocks to rest my hands on as I fold forward give me the extra support to feel safe in this posture and therefore access it with a little sense of ease.

There are always so many options to help find comfort in a posture, with this one, you could keep the knees bent with the soles of the feet on the floor. Use blocks under the hands to gain extra height or turn the block tall ways to rest the forehead on, if that's where you are at or my fav, grab a bolster!

The 'why?!'
All mindful movement is holistic and benifical to our health. For many people forward folds have a calming effect. This seated wide legged forward fold is known for its lengthening of the calves, hamstrings, muscles in the groin and the lower back. Its definitely important for me to say that on different days this posture feels totally different so just notice how it feels in the landscape of your own body and know aslong as it feels good and you're respecting your body then your benefiting from the movement!

Top tip: Try keep everything from collapsing inwards, think strength, as you root down through the legs and flex the toes towards the sky ๐Ÿ’ช and also smiile as you explore yourself!

Kid Yoga Training .. COMPLETED ๐Ÿฅณ // who knew yoga could be such a laugh!

I just spent most of the Bank Holiday weekend in London, laughing, learning and absorbing a whole lot of joy with an amazing collection of supportive people. Yoga is all about connecting and that's definitely what we did. I'm so excited to share my knowledge and tonne of yoga inspired games with all the small humans in our lives. Stay tuned for mum and toddler/family classes coming soon! ๐Ÿ™Œ

One to One's // Have you ever considered a private yoga lesson just for you?

I really enjoy creating plans and tailoring yoga specifically to individual needs and wants. It has reminded me alot of why I am so passionate about yoga, not just on the mat but as a lifestyle. It is so diverse, there is no dogma and no right or wrong, it's all about balance, variety and alternative perspectives. You can take the practices that resonate with you and leave the bits that don't. Surprisingly though the more you deep dive into one or more of the branches of yoga; the postures, breathwork, meditation and life style prompts, the more of it actually does resonate and become benifical to use in everyday life, to shape and carve out a life that is nourishing with ways to help deal with stress and more create more zen.

Lately I have been bringing the philosophy into one lovely ladies 121 session and just to talk through the different aspects and all the different perspectives that we have on each Yama and Niyama (principles to live your life by) it has re-lit the fire inside me for the philosophy, whilst also providing someone with possible new outlooks, and a deeper meaning to there practice on and off the mat.

Each session can be curated to follow the parts you are passionate about or would like extra guidance in, this can go hand in hand with your own practice or the other classes you attend.

For more information please feel free to message me, even if you are just curious about what I can offer. I am always happy to chat about anything yoga related ๐Ÿ™Œ
