Pendeen Car Boot Sales At Stratton.

SUNDAY MAY 10th Can we can't we? 🤔

This morning, after getting up, I sat reading through some lovely messages from people about Pendeen Car Boot Sales At Stratton., and I will say it again we really are all friends there.

But one message truly stood out to me. A lovely lady called Barbara messaged and said that without the Sunday car boot, they would have nothing to do. They travel from outside Truro, and she said the cartoons and illustrations I post during the week give them something to laugh at and look forward to before the car boot arrives.

To be honest, I was quite shocked reading that, but also incredibly proud. Sometimes you never realise how much small things can brighten somebody’s week.

A few people have asked how I make the cartoons. I use a program called Illustrator plus , which came from a good friend of mine in the US who also creates cartoons. It is not simply a case of pressing a button and letting AI do everything. I actually spend hours working with the photographs, putting the images together, colouring them in, adjusting the details, and trying to work out ideas that fit Karl and the car boot atmosphere. There is an AI option within the software, but personally I prefer the old-fashioned style of creating things myself.

I have been involved in arts and technology for well over a decade, and I genuinely enjoy it. But the main reason I do it is very simple to make people smile, brighten somebody’s day, and give people a laugh during the week.

Someone has even suggested I make an illustration of Karl doing Riverdance… and honestly, I am very tempted, although I have not quite worked out the details yet!

For me, Pendeen Car Boot at Stratton is full of wonderful people. From Chris, to Karl, to all the fantastic volunteers who give up their time every single week to help everybody thank you. You are all appreciated more than you probably realise.

Had to get out the way for this big red bird to land whilst litter picking this morning seemed like it was aiming for me. Patient brought from Stratton Hospital, flown to Plymouth. Izzy does wonders in feeding this bird and in the past we have been very charitable from Pendeen. 🙂

Donations Bank Holiday Monday 4th of May for our hospital at Stratton £508.37 very generous in the short time Christine, Mary, Freda, Di, Michael and Cynthia were able to collect due to the rain ending the sale earlier than we would have liked. With so many visitors around appreciating the sale being open. Good to see the previous comments sellers had a good day. Next sale Sunday May 10th weather permitting. Look forward to seeing everyone if we are able to open? 🤔

Bank Holiday Monday with 129 very brave sellers and for most of you it must have paid off with such a crowd of early buyers and such a crowd from 1pm being bank holiday with so many folk around. Disappointing we finished early but if we had cancelled and the sun shone like it did so many would have missed out. Thank you to the volunteers as it ran so smooth today it was an actual joy to have chanced this sale. 🤔

We are leaving this decision longer than normal as its Bank Holiday we want to open, the grass has been mown we will be ready but don't want to get drenched. Lets see tomorrow PM If there is any chance?

Bank Holiday coming up Pendeen will open Sunday May 3rd and B.H.Monday 4th if the dry weather continues? 🙂

Due to an elderly gentleman from Holsworthy unsteady with his walking taken a tumble in front of the cake lady near the main entrance. Having to wait for an ambulance for an hour and a half. TEAM PENDEEN done all they could to assist unsure whether anything was broken. Whilst a kind lady from the public was also a huge help in talking to him whilst the 999 call was asking so many questions. A HUGE shout out to all those that helped in anyway. The ambulance crew were going to take him home to his wife and I’m sure many of you will wish him well and that bruising and a cut to his face soon heals.

252 sellers, more than expected with just two playing us up. Leaving before time and another leaving items behind number plates have been taken. Was a bit of a traumatic day for our volunteers after last Sunday. PLEASE don’t mouth at them at all especially if you want to attend again. I / We have always looked after our regulars and will continue to do so. It is not a free for all you cannot come in and say you want to park here or there. This is such a minority, but it is upsetting for those that are helping KARL and myself in bringing you such a famous large car boot sale.

There is a strict early entrance fee of £5 per adult before 1pm this has nothing to do with your donations from 1pm for the local hospital. As a family it is our business what the money goes towards no one else's concern. Pendeen does not run on thin air as we have managed to absorb rising costs the fees have remained the same for several years now. Any uncalled-for whispers behind our backs are nasty. We have raised more than most sales throughout the country and very proud of what has been achieved at Pendeen. WITH THANKS TO TEAM PENDEEN. 🙂

With Thanks to Paul’s Photography & Drone Media Group we could be in for another bumper sale Sunday April 26th of over 200 sellers with the weather forecast on side again and possibly staying dry for our bank holiday weekend May 3rd & 4th ?
Sellers from 9.30am. You can queue before. Buyers from 1pm free or by donation to our local hospital last Sundays donations £550.36 🙂

Interestingly I have just clicked on (see insights and ads) and found a couple of my recent posts have over 57,000 views. I know Pendeen has over 13,000 followers which you can probably see. Never liked the idea of being a member of a car boot sale sounds like you pay a membership but everyone to their own. Gosh the power of Face Book in a good way. But then yesterday I clicked on a post to do with our prime minister out of interest and this p**n picture came right across the screen then warnings, so I thought oh no! Switched computer off and back on after a couple of minutes relieved that the computer and Face Book were back to normal. There is for and against. But Face Book and Google page plus other pages not to with me have certainly over the years advertised us far and beyond.

Next sale Sunday April 26th at PENDEEN weather forecast on side just as the Sunday and Monday Bank Holiday beginning of May? 🙂
