Those were dark times...

I never set out to build a skincare business. I was simply trying to ease my child’s suffering of severe eczema. What grew from that time became Shaloah Skincare - but the struggle came first.

As I refresh this brand, I’m not starting over. I’m returning to the heart of why it exists.

Here’s what I’ve learned about building a brand that truly connects:

A brand isn’t built on nice colours, a fancy logo, pretty packaging.

It’s built on truth. On lived experience. On the reason you started in the first place.

I want my brand to reflect everything I do - let it guide my decisions big and small.

I want it to communicate my values clearly - so people instantly know what I stand for.

And last but not least I want it to make you feel the 'why' behind my products - connection comes before aesthetics.

Without the story, it might look beautiful, but it won’t feel real. And people can sense that. We are all craving connection, now more than ever.

✨ What began in a moment of desperation… is evolving. After years of growing, learning, and refining, it’s time my brand caught up.

Shaloah Skincare has always been about care, intention, and real relief for sensitive skin and eczema-prone skin. Every product is made in small batches, with ingredients I trust (including our own homegrown calendula to soothe, nurture, and protect delicate skin).

This rebrand isn’t about trends or a fancy new look - it’s about alignment. I want the brand to better reflect the heart and values that have always guided me.

Our mission to naturally soothe and nurture your skin hasn’t changed. I’m just making it easier for you to find what your skin needs with clarity, purpose, and gentle care. And as always, everything is ethical, cruelty-free, and crafted mindfully.

✨ 10 interesting facts about me ✨
(or at least I hope you find them interesting! 😂)

I’ve had a few lovely new faces join me here recently, so I thought it was time to properly say hello 👋

I don’t often show my face… I’m quite camera shy but I’m trying to lean into it a little more this year.

So this is me having a little stroll in the woods (my happy place) and here are a few things I bet you didn’t know about me!

• I used to live in Amsterdam
• I’d choose being out in nature over anywhere else
• I got married in India 🤍
• I home educate my two boys
• My “other” job is graphic designer
• I love Jesus
• I’m half German
• One of my boys was born on my birthday - best gift ever
• I used to be an insurance broker… 🥱 (yes, really)
• I’m the eldest of eight siblings

My faith, nature, motherhood, they all shape how I live and how I run my natural skincare business. I believe real beauty is about confidence, care, and feeling supported in your own skin, not perfection.

Slow, thoughtful routines. Gentle ingredients. And a whole lot of compassion, for ourselves and each other 🤍

Some stories really hit home 💛

This little girl, Tess, needed a ventilator mask every night to help her breathe, but wearing it meant her skin couldn’t breathe underneath.

Heat, moisture and constant wear left her eczema sore, inflamed and incredibly uncomfortable, especially around her nose and face.

Her mum reached out to me after ordering my calendula cream, worried and looking for guidance. She said that after a few uses, the redness had already started to calm, which felt hopeful, but the skin was still so raw, reacting easily and struggling particularly where the mask sat. As a mum who’s struggled with a child with severe eczema, I know how heartbreaking that feels and how desperate you are to do the right thing.

We talked about supporting the skin, allowing it to breathe, not over-layering, reducing friction and we worked out a simple, gentle cleansing and moisturising routine.

Ten days later, I received a message that stopped me in my tracks 💛

Her mum shared photos of her daughter’s skin looking calm, smooth and comfortable again - and told me how much of a difference the cream and natural soap had made, not just to her skin, but to their peace of mind as a family.

Messages like this are why I do what I do. Not to promise miracles (although they do now call it her “magic cream”) but to support sensitive, struggling skin with honesty, care and compassion, especially when life makes things more complicated.

Many of you know why this matters so much. ✨

Years ago, my son’s eczema was so severe that sleep deprivation, endless scratching, tears and frustration were our every day. Nothing seemed to soothe his cracked, itchy skin. In my sleep-deprived state, I had a wild idea - maybe I could create my own natural solution… and that’s exactly what I did.

There’s something so special about this time of year - the air crisp with autumn, the ground sprinkled with treasures waiting to be found 🍂✨

What started as a woodland skate and foraging adventure turned into a royal encounter 🍄

Tucked beneath the trees was the most beautiful mushrooms - golden cap, soft gills, that earthy forest scent. The big question: are they edible or poisonous? 👀

So we pulled out our new foraging book (and my little mushroom expert trainee) to investigate…

✨ Turns out, we’d found The Prince - an edible mushroom, prized for its rich, nutty flavour and majestic name.

This wonderful season always reminds me how generous nature is - nourishing us, teaching us, and offering free food to those who take the time to look. 🌿

(And of course, a gentle reminder - always be 100% sure of your find before eating. Some mushrooms look alike, and not all of them are kind!)

It’s been a little while since I last posted. Life’s curve balls have a way of stopping us in our tracks sometimes don’t they? And the past few months have been a bit of a struggle at times. But we must pick ourselves up and carry on right?
