The year of the Fire Horse has certainly started 🔥 🐎 There is a lot of momentum building behind the scenes at The Magic Touch Well-being Centre. 🙏

Sometimes change and the unknown can feel scary. This year I had to say goodbye to my friend Jo who had been keeping me company in the largest room in the building throughout a very long winter ! But the universe didn’t keep me hanging long when came in for a massage telling me about her massage training and next thing you know she is taking on the room and going full steam ahead and has created this truly amazing space 🤩.

I am so so proud of you Laura for not only creating a beautiful treatment space that your clients are going to love, but also for being willing to move into the unknown and go for your dreams 💆.

It takes a lot of courage to set up a business and go self employed especially in this climate. But time and time again I look around and see some truly amazing souls stepping outside of their comfort zone and reaching for the stars ⭐️ it really is MAGIC.

Sometimes you have to trust that whatever unfolds is exactly what is meant for you 🙏.

I created this Well being Centre as a safe place you can come to have the time and space to be held, nurtured , seen and a place that you can let go. So often as humans we continue about our day not always fully aware of the weight we are carrying. Usually clients meet me for the first time when they are getting physical problems - their bodies ache, their muscles are tight , their energy depleted, their immune systems compromised and more often than not their nervous systems dysregulated. Our aim as Therapists here is to hold the space for you to come back into your body, to help your nervous system settle, allow you to slow and breathe deeply and with the power of touch help your muscles to relax. Every client leaves feeling lighter , more in their body, more regulated and relaxed and most importantly more them. This is the magic and this is our work. Wow …… it’s a powerful day 🌝 ☀️ 🐎 🔥. And what better time to have booked a Crystal Healing treatment with the lovely .healingwithvicky . Sometimes I find it difficult to articulate (peri menopause brain fog 😆) or find the right words to explain what happens during certain treatments.
I had no idea what to expect from a Crystal healing session or how I would feel. But as I lay on the warm treatment bed , a Rose quartz Crystal mask placed over my eyes (I now have to find one of these !) I allowed myself to relax with no expectations.
Vicky tuned in to see what I needed to help me rebalance, restore and reconnect with myself. Some crystals were placed in my hands and at certain points over my body. I became aware of the heavy tension I was holding over my shoulders. Vicky placed some Smokey Quartz just above them and then something happened. I could physically feel something leaving my upper body and my shoulders began to drop. Vicky advised this tension wasn’t actually mine and energetically it needed to leave. Wow no hands on therapy just the Crystals doing their thing. I felt instantly more relaxed. As the treatment went on, my legs began to buzz and I could feel an electrical sensation moving up them. It felt natural but like something was shifting.
I spent an hour on the table and completely lost track of time. Post treatment I feel noticeably different. Grounded, lighter and with more mental clarity. I feel like I could go to sleep 😴
How does crystal healing work ? The crystals interact with the bodies energy reducing stress, clearing negative energy and promoting healing.
Is it a bit woo? Yes absolutely but don’t let fear of the unknown hold you back. The benefits can be felt immediately. Why don’t you give something new a try this year ? I am thrilled to announce that Laura Maker will be joining me at Magic Touch in Budleigh Salterton from 1st March. Laura is just about to complete her Massage Therapy training and is offering discounted sessions throughout March at Magic Touch. I had a massage from Laura last week and as someone with over 15 years Massage experience I have to say the treatment blew me away and I don’t say this lightly ! It’s February at last 👏. I’ve been a little quiet on socials in 2026 mainly because I’ve been renovating at work. Wallpaper stripping, painting and designing a new space. In March we will be launching our 3rd treatment room at Magic Touch and I’m so excited for the things we have lined up for you wonderful clients ! This year will be our busiest yet and I’m definitely fired 🔥 🐎 up for it . If you know any Massage Therapists, Reflexologists or other Holistic Practitioners that are looking to find a unique and friendly space to work from please tag them below. Throwback to the time Sammy seal 🦭 made an appearance in Budleigh and I got to live this magical experience of being at one with nature. I’ve been thinking about the sea 🌊 a lot since the Christmas Day tragedy when two local men lost their lives. Mother Nature can be incredibly moving and beautiful but it can also be ferocious, dangerous and destructive. The ocean just like human emotions can be calm and serene one day and change quickly to be angry and volatile. Sometimes nature also has to let go of what it is holding. As we move through January you may also feel yourself having to let go. This may cause you to feel exhausted 😴, emotional or like you just need to be alone to process. I am seeing lots of this in treatment since I’ve returned from the Christmas break. If you are needing some support emotionally and physically or just want some time out to decompress and feel back in your body, we have appointments available with the wonderful Rowena for massage and Reiki energy healing on Mondays , Wednesdays and some Saturdays. As a business so close to where the Christmas Day Budleigh swim takes place, we are heartbroken by the news of two men missing at sea. Our thoughts go out to the families and friends affected. I will be holding a collection on December 30th at Magic Touch on Rolle Road Budleigh for the RNLI and Rescue services that did us proud on the day in such terrible conditions. If you would like to donate I will be leaving a collection at the front door of the building. My thoughts are with the local community who are deeply affected by this terrible tragedy 🙏

Take a moment and look how far you have come 👀. Seriously have you taken a minute to even look at what you have accomplished this year ? I have to say I have seen some people really achieve things this year. Seeing others open their own business, train in something new, having babies 👶 and others really working hard and balancing life as parents, giving lots to their work, health, family and friends. You should be proud of yourselves and everything you have achieved this year. We live in ever turbulent and changing times and to stay true to ourselves, our calling and how we want to live is a task. Give yourself a pat on the back for how far you have travelled this year. You have transformed and walked through a new door 🚪a new version of yourself - take a pause to honour this growth 🙏 🎄 🌎. X
