🐕 Relaxing Monday
Today Etta came for a pet therapy session , she was spoilt with lots of cuddles and treats, the resident get so much out of our doggie visits, it always encourages conversations about the pets they kept when at home and happy memories with them 🐕 🐈‍⬛ 🐠 🐢 🦅
Paris spent sometime playing games and watching a quiz show with Cheryl and others enjoyed the beautiful September sunshine ☀️

what a great Saturday night we had watching Pete mc call presents Rod Stewart, he was amazing.
We sang and danced the night away to all his great songs x music really is the best tonic x think our residents will be having a very lazy day after there boogieing night 🕺 💃 🪩 🎶

Spud 🥔 lunch at Langley & Hardley village hall today 😋
As always we were made to feel so welcome 🤗
Delicious food, fantastic atmosphere and such lovely people who organise this lovely community gathering.
We also celebrated Darren’s birthday today! His niece Chantal joined us which was lovely 🥰
One of our residents won a bottle of Bucks Fizz on the raffle 🍾
Another lovely surprise was Paula and Daisy joining us for lunch.
Back at home Andy came to Bungay House to maintain our grounds and Jonathan mowed our lawns

Relaxation morning….🧘‍♀️
Back by popular demand our Bungay House Spa 🥰
Our residents have enjoyed having foot spas, nails filed and painted. Face and foot masks.
We have also given massages which offer benefits like reduced muscle tension, pain relief and it has a positive impact on mental wellbeing. Massages help to lower stress, depression and anxiety and can boost your immune system and circulation.
We listened to some gorgeous meditation music and enjoyed the relaxing ambiance…..

This morning we attended the Broome Village Hall coffee morning. We had a lovely surprise seeing Paula who used to live with us at Bungay House. Paula joined our table for BINGO and the raffle. It was great catching up with her and seeing how well she looks🥰
Two of our residents were lucky on the raffle today which was great. Scott won a scented candle which he gave to his mum Ros 😊. Scott chose to sit with her during the BINGO and raffle.
A few of the men asked if they could have a takeaway lunch so we drove to KFC and McDonald’s ….
Scott and I were singing 🎶 along to the Rolling Stones and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. It amused Scott that I knew these artists.
After lunch I trimmed Cheryl’s hair. Cheryl is really pleased it’s growing and getting stronger again 😍

This morning a few of the residents asked to go for a Starbucks and drive, we drove to beccles where they all chose what they wanted and then parked up by a lovely little church for a chat whilst drinking our coffees, we then went for a long drive all around the country lanes.
We stopped the car to look at the amazing clouds to see if we could see any shapes in them, we spotted what looked like a duck 🦆
Then we stopped to look at mine and Lucy’s horses enjoying the late morning sunshine.
This afternoon we had a in house church service held by Ian Darren’s friend, the hymns were sang beautifully while another gentleman played the keyboard and said some prayers, religion is very important to some of our people and they are looking forward to the next service ⛪️
Jonathon enjoyed a stroll over Broome pits which he really enjoys doing, Natalie said he chatted lots and was very happy 😃 🌳

This afternoon we were all shook up 🎵

Barrytone was in the building singing and dancing for us.
As always he put big smiles on our lovelies faces and sang some of there favourite songs, Una loved wooden heart, Christine loved them all and can’t wait for his next visit.
Margaret wanted to stay in her room so Barry paid her a visit and sang her a song which she was very grateful for 😃 🎵 🕺

Sunday church service. This morning we had a visitor who played the guitar in the service which was a lovely surprise ! It was an upbeat and uplifting service 😊 we even had a doggie in church this morning 🥰
Jonathan’s wife Julie joined us for the service.
Afterwards we socialised with everyone from the community over tea and coffee which is always lovely. The local community always make us feel so welcome 🤗
After church a few residents wanted to pop to the co-op to pick up a few supplies. On return to Bungay House we sat down to enjoy a tasty roast dinner cooked by Sara, delicious 😋 as always!

Today a few of us went to Lowestoft North Quay shopping retail park. Two of our male residents wanted to go to Curry’s to purchase new tablets. The staff in Curry’s were incredibly friendly and helpful. They explained everything that the residents wanted to know about their new gadgets 🥰
Once home Sue had cooked a delicious brunch for everyone😋.I sat with Darren after lunch and we set his new tablet together….
A few of the ladies wanted to watch a film this afternoon, they chose The Muppet’s take Manhattan ☺️

Time to talk Friday 😊….. I made my way round the residents this morning catching up with them, sharing a cuppa and chat 💬
Some 1-1 time is important and allows everyone’s voice to be heard. Jonathan was pleased to be informed that his wife Julie is visiting him on Sunday and accompanying us to church. Una was enjoying watching a program on pets and was looking forward to her fish and chips at lunchtime. Another resident was pleased he’s now able to get an iPad which we collect tomorrow 😌
I chatted with a few ladies who were feeling a little low in mood. One lady was concerned that if she’s seen doing normal activities that people will think she’s okay! I explained that when someone has a physical problem it’s easier for people to understand because it is visual, but mental health is far more complex for people to comprehend and understand! We talked about how people suffer from different kinds of mental health and illnesses and how important eating healthy, exercising, socialising and joining in the activities are all really important for ensuring they keep themselves safe and well!
I also explained how important talking about how we are feeling is… A problem shared is a problem halved!!
Everyone enjoyed Sara’s delicious fish and chips for lunch 😋
