❄️🎯🧠 Snowy smiles and indoor fun this January! 🧠🎯❄️

Our residents were delighted to see the first snow of January, watching the flakes fall and sharing memories of winters gone by. After enjoying the wintry views, it was time to warm up indoors with some friendly games of darts 🎯 and a fun word game 🧩 that got everyone thinking and laughing.

A perfect mix of fresh air views, good company, and engaging activities—just the way we like it! 💙

🎄✨ A little late, but full of Christmas cheer! ✨🎄

We may be a bit delayed in sharing, but the lovely memories from Christmas Day are still very much in our hearts. Our residents enjoyed a wonderful festive celebration, complete with a delicious roast dinner, the excitement of opening presents, and—most importantly—spending precious time with their families and loved ones.

There were lots of smiles, laughter, and special moments shared throughout the day, making it a truly meaningful Christmas for everyone involved. Thank you to all the families who joined us and helped make the day so special, and to our amazing team who worked hard to create such a warm and joyful atmosphere. ❤️

Better late than never—because these moments are always worth celebrating. 🎁🎅

🎄The halls are decked, the sherry is poured, and the sound of laughter is echoing! We are still buzzing from our incredible annual Christmas Party at Chevington Lodge. 🥂
This wasn't just any party; it was a heart-warming celebration bringing together our wonderful residents, their loving relatives, and our dedicated staff team.

Look at what made the day so special:
🎤 Fantastic Festive Fun: The brilliant Rob James kept everyone entertained with sing-alongs and classic Christmas tunes!
🎅 A Very Special Guest: We even had a visit from Santa Claus himself, spreading cheer and taking photos!
🎁 Prizes & Goodies: Our amazing raffle raised smiles (and funds!) with some fantastic prizes.
🥧 The Taste of Christmas: Mountains of delicious mince pies and a glass of warming sherry or non-alcoholic punch for everyone!

At Chevington Lodge, we believe that joyful, engaging activities are at the core of great dementia care. Moments like these not only create new memories but also help residents reconnect with treasured past feelings and traditions. Seeing the residents' faces light up as they dance or share a moment with Santa is what it's all about!

✨🏡 The Magic of the Holidays is Here! See the Joyful Moments We're Sharing! 🎄🎶

There's something incredibly special about this time of year, and here at Chevington Lodge we're making sure every day is filled with warmth and laughter. 😍

Last week was an absolute blast! Our residents got into the festive spirit with word games 🧠, began decorating the home (hello, tinsel!), and made beautiful Christmas cards to send to loved ones. On Sunday, we had a fabulous afternoon of music, singing, and dancing 💃🕺, followed by some well-deserved pampering and new manicures!💅

And the joy keeps coming this week! We've been busy putting up the magnificent Christmas trees 🌲 and getting competitive with a fun game of hoopla! But the highlight? A heart-warming visit from Kelly from our wonderful charity, Friend in Deed, who brought along the brightest smiles—children from a local school! The residents absolutely loved their company and the lovely chats. 🧑‍🦳❤️👧

To top it all off, our kitchen has been smelling divine as we worked together to create and decorate Christmas cookies 🍪, which we all happily enjoyed after lunch!

Our friends at Chevington Lodge in Bungay run their lovely Little Visitor Stay & Play sessions every other Monday from 10:30am–11:30am.

Their next session is on Monday 8th December, and it’s set to be extra special with a visit from Beebops Ltd, who will be leading an engaging music and movement session! 🎶💃🕺

A perfect opportunity for little ones to have fun, explore, and get moving while spending time with care home residents, who we hope they can start to get to know and become their older friends.

🍁 October Delights at Chevington Lodge! 🎨

What a fantastic October we had! Our residents have been busy, busy, busy, filling the home with fun, music, and creativity!

​🧠 Mind & Body Fun

​Wordsmiths: We tested our brains with wordsearches and word games!

​🍂 Art Time

We got crafty painting beautiful autumnal leaves.

​✨ Glamour & Calm

We enjoyed making bracelets, getting a pampering massage and nail painting session with relaxing music.

​🚲 Active Challenges

We had a bit of a friendly rivalry with a cycle race!

​🧩 Brain Teasers

Getting stuck into jigsaw puzzles.

​🎶 Music, Community & Cake!

​Community Concert: A musical outing was a huge hit, complete with yummy cake 🍰, creating rhythms, and playing instruments!

​🎤 Choir Power! The month ended on a high note with:
​Our Care Home Choir with lovely Peter and Sarah.
​An online choir singing with other care homes in the area accompanied by the beautiful voices of the Ormiston Victory High School Choir

​🐾 Furry Friends: Big smiles all round for Benny's visit and his lovely cuddles!

​💐 Surprises: Receiving gorgeous flowers always brightens the day!

​🍪 Baking Bliss: The home smelled divine after baking yummy chocolate chip cookies!

​🎭 Show Time: We celebrated Theatre Day in style, wearing sparkly hats whilst watching A Chorus Line! 🌟

​So much joy packed into one month! We can't wait to see what November brings!

🎨🧠🎯 What a fantastic few weeks we've had here at Chevington Lodge!🏡💕

We kicked things off with a lovely visit from Niall before he headed back to school – always a joy to see him! 👦📚

Our residents put their thinking caps on with an art quiz and art crossword, then got creative making their very own Green Men 🌿 and trying out portrait and landscape painting! 🎨🖼️

We also kept our brains buzzing with wordsearches and word games – lots of fun and laughter along the way! 🧠✍️😄

🎯 A friendly game of darts and hoopla turned a little competitive (in the best way!) and brought out some hidden talents! 💪

🐾 One of the week’s highlights was a visit from Barbar the cat – such a sweet and well-behaved little guest! 🐱❤️

🌻 We’ve been enjoying some lovely walks in the garden, making the most of the fresh air and early autumn colours. Our sunflowers are coming along beautifully – growing taller each day and putting a big smile on everyone’s faces! 🌞🌿

🎂 And of course, we ended on a high note by celebrating three birthdays – complete with delicious cakes and good cheer all around! Happy birthday from all of us at Chevington Lodge! 🎉🍰🎈

What a wonderful week we've had! We've been soaking up the peaceful mornings with walks in the garden, admiring our flowers. 💐

​To get our bodies moving, we enjoyed a calm seated yoga session to stretch and focus on our breathing. 🧘‍♂️ We also had some friendly competition with a cycle machine race—it was a close one! 🚴‍♀️

​Our minds were put to the test with a challenging word game, and we got creative thinking of words with the tricky letter 'X'! ✍️

​For a bit of adventure, we travelled virtually to Edinburgh Zoo to see what the animals were up to. 🐅 We also had a fun request for a big game of Snakes & Ladders! 🎲 And of course, we had a blast celebrating Notting Hill Carnival with incredible carnival headdresses.

A huge shout-out to our residents for their amazing creations! ✨

Happy 103rd Birthday, Thelma!!


Residents, staff and visitors had the most amazing fun celebrating 103 years of our special lady.

Thank you, Rob, for providing so many wonderful songs for us to dance and sing to. There was lots of laughter and emotive moments, it was a truly special day!

What a fantastic week we all had here, at Chevington Lodge!

🎉 We started off by matching languages to their countries, which was a great way to get our brains working. 🧠 Then we got to celebrate Asian Heritage Month with some delicious homemade food brought in by one of our amazing staff members. 😋

​We also had lots of birthday celebrations this month so far, complete with beautiful cakes and rousing renditions of "Happy Birthday!" 🎂 We love celebrating our residents!

​We kept our bodies moving with some arm exercises, catching and popping bubbles with our hands and soft rackets! 🫧 For our minds, we played some of our favourite word games. ✍️

We wrapped up the week with a sweet treat: yummy s'mores that went down a treat! 🔥

A week full of joy and activity at Chevington Lodge!😊

We kicked things off with some little visitors who helped us pot and plant seeds in the garden. 🌱 We even spotted lots of wildlife! 🐦

We tested our speed and energy on the cycle machines to stay fit and active. 🚴‍♀️ Our brains got a workout with a fun word game, and we loved the visit from a resident's great-granddaughter who shared stickers with everyone! ✨

We even found some time to relax with jigsaw puzzles. 🧩

What a wonderful week it's been!
