Common Spinal Myths – Let’s Set the Record Straight
There’s a lot of misinformation out there when it comes to back and neck pain. At Attend2Health, we hear these myths every week — so let’s clear a few up 👇
Myth 1: “Back pain is just part of getting older.”
While age can play a role, ongoing pain is not something you should simply accept. Many causes of back pain are treatable, and with the right care and rehab, you can stay active and mobile at any age.
Myth 2: “If I have back pain, I should rest completely.”
Prolonged rest can actually slow recovery. In most cases, gentle movement and guided rehabilitation help the spine recover more effectively.
Myth 3: “A slipped disc means I need surgery.”
The majority of disc issues improve with conservative care such as Chiropractic, Osteopathy, Physiotherapy, and structured rehab. Surgery is rarely the first step.
Myth 4: “Good posture means sitting bolt upright all day.”
There’s no single ‘perfect’ posture. The best posture is one that changes regularly. Movement is key.
At Attend2Health, we have multiple professionals under one roof, allowing us to tailor your treatment plan to you — whether that’s hands-on care, rehabilitation, or Pilates-based recovery. Our focus is always on helping you get back to health safely and confidently.
