Stepping out for a little lunchtime sunshine ☀️
In play therapy, we often talk about creating space to pause, breathe, and reset—and sometimes that starts with something as simple as a walk in the fresh air. Nature has a gentle way of helping us reconnect, regulate, and recharge.
Whether it’s a child at play or an adult taking a mindful moment, these small breaks can make a big difference 💛

Taking a few days to pause and recharge 🌿
Exploring Snape Maltings, appreciating the sculptures of Barbara Hepworth, and enjoying precious time with my beautiful children.
A gentle reminder of the importance of space, creativity, and rest ✨

🌷 Happy Mother’s Day 🌷
Today I want to celebrate all the incredible mums , grandmas, aunties, foster carers and special women I have the privilege of working with. 💛
As a play therapist, I see daily the love, patience, and strength you bring to your children’s worlds — even on the hardest days. You show up, nurture, and keep listening, even when it’s tough.
Thank you for trusting me to be part of your family’s journey. You’re doing amazing work — even when it doesn’t feel that way. 💐

Another lovely session SPINS Pre-School 💛

I encouraged the children to explore their emotions by expressing their needs and feelings through a teddy bear, helping them project their thoughts in a gentle, creative way. Together, we created a cosy, safe home for their teddy — building empathy, confidence, and emotional awareness through play

I had a great time at SPINS Pre-School this morning making magical slime with the children! ✨🧪
Sensory play encourages creativity, curiosity, fine motor skills, and language development, while giving children the chance to explore, experiment, and have lots of fun.
Such a joyful, messy, and magical morning! 💚

She seems fine. Quiet. Polite. Easy to teach.
But what if that calm exterior is carefully constructed?

Many girls learn early on to blend in — to watch, copy, and adapt so they don’t stand out.
It can look like confidence or maturity… but underneath, it’s often exhaustion.

Masking is not pretending.
It’s surviving in an environment that doesn’t yet feel safe enough for authenticity.

Our Toolkit for Parents & Educators explores how masking shows up, why it’s so often missed, tools to identify triggers and strategies/activities to support.
Instant electronic download with secure global checkout. at link in comments ⬇️ or via our Linktree Shop in Bio.

Because when a child finally feels safe to drop the mask — that’s when real connection begins.

✨ Welcome Back✨
Today I welcomed children back to my studio as we begin a new year of growth, creativity, and healing through play. 💛The playroom is ready once again to be a safe, supportive space where children can express themselves, build skills, and feel fully seen and heard.
I’m looking forward to reconnecting with all of my clients this week and welcoming some new children and their families too.

Play therapy helps ease school anxiety by providing children with a safe, natural way to express worries they can’t yet put into words. Through play, children build coping skills, confidence, and emotional resilience—so school feels less scary and more manageable, one small step at a time. 🌱

School anxiety does not appear out of nowhere.

It’s often a response to something that feels too much — too noisy, too overwhelming, too pressured, too uncertain.

By recognising the issues underneath the anxiety — not just the behaviour on the surface — we can offer the right support early, before a young person begins to struggle with non-attendance.

Every feeling is a message. Let’s listen before it becomes a crisis.
