Moat House Care Home Burbage Moat House is a family-run, award-winning home in Burbage, offering person-centred care.

Replacing an original, longstanding home, the new, purpose built Moat House was officially opened by Angela Rippon OBE in 2013 following an £8m investment incorporating the latest disability equipment and adaptations. Nestled in the village centre conservation area of Burbage in Leicestershire, Moat House enjoys an unrivalled reputation with care professionals and the local community and is close to the bus stop and the village post office, church, shops, pubs, library, doctor’s surgery and train station. We offer first class accommodation with cosy lounge diners and en-suite showers in all bedrooms at reasonable prices, plus a working, 1960s reminiscence kitchen and DIY workshop to help stimulate the minds of residents with dementia. With Wi-Fi throughout, the home also has a host of fantastic social facilities including 'Flicks cinema opposite ‘Cuppa’ café, ‘Horse and Hounds’ pub, and ‘Quiffs’ hair and beauty salon. PAULINE’S MAKE A WISH 🦉✨

Pauline discovered her love of owls over 20 years ago after visiting a bird sanctuary. Since then, she has collected owl ornaments and treasures, and a recent conversation about a framed photo of an owl reminded us just how much she would love to see one again.

We were delighted to make her wish come true with a very special visit from three magnificent owls and a falcon! It was an incredible experience for everyone, and Pauline was over the moon.

She said, “This is amazing. I loved being able to hold and stroke the owls.”

A truly magical day filled with joy, wonder and unforgettable moments.
