🍎 Staying Fuelled & Refreshed: Nutrition & Hydration Week! 💧
​This week, we’ve been shining a spotlight on Nutrition and Hydration Week here at The Cotswold Home. Keeping our bodies well-nourished and hydrated is vital for health, energy, and well-being, so we’ve made it a week to remember!
​🥨 "Help Yourself" Snack Stations
​We set up a special display in our reception area packed with information on staying healthy. To keep energy levels high, we provided a variety of "grab-and-go" snacks for both our amazing staff and our lovely residents. From flaky croissants and cereal bars to hearty pots of porridge, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
​🧃 Cheers to the Winners!
​We even brought the theme into our afternoon games! To make sure everyone stayed hydrated while having fun, we introduced a "Winners’ Toast." Every time someone won a round, the whole group celebrated with a refreshing shot of fruit juice. It was a delicious way to keep the fluids flowing and the smiles going!

Our residents have had the best day! A huge thank you to Great and Small Playgroup for visiting. The children were stars, and we all thoroughly enjoyed getting our fix of the cute ducklings—they certainly stole the show! 🐥

​It’s been a laughter-filled afternoon here as we brought out the classic tabletop favourites for a little friendly competition!
​From the nail-biting climbs of Snakes and Ladders to the strategic plotting of Connect Four.
​🍹 Raising a Glass for Hydration Week
​Since it’s Nutrition & Hydration Week, we added a fun twist: every time someone won a game, the whole table had to celebrate with a "shot" of fresh fruit juice! It was a fantastic (and delicious) way to make sure everyone stayed topped up on their fluids while they played.
​🐥 Fluffy Friends
​To top off a perfect day, we had another fix of our beautiful ducklings. There is truly nothing like those fluffy little friends to bring a smile to everyone's face and a bit of peace to the afternoon. 💛

🐥 Cuteness Overload at The Cotswold Home! 🐥
​We have some very special new residents, and it’s safe to say they’ve officially stolen everyone’s hearts! We are currently experiencing a serious case of cuteness overload with these precious ducklings.
​There is nothing quite like the sound of tiny peeps and the sight of those waddling little feet to brighten everyone’s day. Our residents and staff are absolutely smitten, spending plenty of time watching their antics and making sure they feel right at home. 💛

We had some very special new residents arrive Yesterday, we took delivery of a clutch of duckling eggs, and we are thrilled to announce that the hatching has officially begun today!
​Our residents have been gathered around the incubator, watching in awe as the first tiny beaks start to poke through. There’s nothing quite like the magic of new life to brighten up the home—it’s been smiles all around!
​🦆 What’s Next?
​The Waiting Game: We’re keeping a close eye on the remaining eggs.
​First Steps: Once they’ve fluffed up, they’ll move into their brooding box for their first swim and plenty of cuddles.
​Updates Galore: We will be posting plenty of photos and videos as our new feathered friends make their debut.

☘️ St. Paddy’s Day: Part Two! ☘️
​While everyone else celebrated yesterday, we decided to keep the party going and held our very own St. Patrick’s Day festivities today! It may be the 18th, but the luck of the Irish was definitely still with us.
​🍽️ A Special Feast
​A huge shout-out to our amazing kitchen team! They prepared a wonderful Irish-themed lunch that went down an absolute treat. It was the perfect way to kick off our delayed celebrations.
​🎳 The "Potato" Bowls Championship
​This afternoon, things got a little competitive (and a lot hilarious). We swapped our usual carpet bowls for a custom game of "Irish Carpet Bowls":
​The Jack: A giant swede!
​The Teams: It was a fierce battle between Team White Potatoes and Team Red Potatoes.
​It was brilliant fun with so many laughs—turns out bowling with "potatoes" is much harder (and funnier) than it looks! 🥔💚

🎨 Art for a Cause: Celebrating Peter’s Talent!
​Today was a truly special day at our home as we came together to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
​We held a very special art exhibition featuring the incredible work of our resident, Peter. Before MND impacted his ability to paint, Peter spent hours creating beautiful pieces of art, and it was an honor to showcase his talent for everyone to see.
​The morning was made even more magical by the wonderful Jill the Harpist, who provided a stunning soundtrack as we browsed Peter’s gallery. There’s nothing quite like the sound of a harp to make an art show feel truly professional!
​🧺 How You Can Help
​The fundraising doesn't stop at the paintings! Our amazing FSA, Ann, has put together a gorgeous hamper to be raffled off.
​The Cause: Every single penny from the painting sales and the raffle will go directly to Peter’s chosen MND charity.
​Tickets: Available at reception!
​We are so proud of Peter and so grateful to everyone who joined us today to support this important cause. Let’s help make a difference in the fight against MND! 💙
