We would like to let our patients know that Bampton will be vacating the Carterton premises from 17th April.

Following this, Burford will begin some refurbishment work to improve the environment for both patients and staff, and to provide better access to services for our Carterton patients.

During this period, there may be some temporary disruption, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Be reassured we will continue to offer our usual clinics at Carterton and furthermore will be increasing our provision there from early April.

We can confirm that we are currently accepting new patient registrations to those patients living within our practice boundary.

As we continue to make improvements to our services and facilities, we will review capacity regularly to ensure we can continue to provide safe, high quality care to all our patients.

We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to an additional GP who will be joining our team this April.

Dr Carter is a highly experienced clinician who brings a strong background in patient care and a commitment to delivering high-quality medical services. He is passionate about building positive relationships with patients and colleagues alike, and we are confident he will be a valuable addition to the practice.

Dr Carter is very much looking forward to working with the team, contributing his expertise, and supporting the continued delivery of excellent care to our community.

Carterton Health Centre is currently closed due to a loss of water supply at the premises.
Due to infection control and health and safety requirements, we are unable to operate from a building without running water. All appointments scheduled at Carterton will be rescheduled or moved to our Burford site where possible.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Update:

There is currently no water at the Carterton site, so we are unable to operate there today due to infection control requirements.

The Burford site has running water and will remain open.

The reception team are contacting any patients with face-to-face appointments booked at Carterton and asking them to attend Burford.

We are currently exploring whether there is an issue with the building’s water supply and are awaiting confirmation that running water has been restored at both Carterton and Burford.

This may delay our 8:00am opening and could result in some appointments needing to be cancelled. Due to infection control requirements, the surgery cannot operate safely without a running water supply.

We will provide further updates as soon as we have more information. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

What are PNGs?

PNGs categorise patients based on the complexity of their healthcare needs, not just their medical conditions.

How do they work?

Patients are grouped by factors like chronic conditions of illness:

Group 1: Complex Care Needs

Group: Stable Chronic Conditions

Group 3: Requires less intervention

Benefits:

Personalised Care
Improved Coordination
Better Resource Allocation
Proactive Health Management
Enhanced Communication.

This is just one of several indicators that are used in primary care to get a full picture of patient needs.

ADVANCE NOTICE:

The Surgery will be closed from 1pm on Wednesday 4th March for our next training afternoon.
This closure has been agreed by the local commissioning board (BOB ICB) to allow GP practices across Oxfordshire facilitate training for their practice team.
If you require medical attention, please do not ring the surgery but contact NHS 111. If you require urgent or immediate treatment, please attend Urgent Care or if life threatening consider attendance at A & E.

For any non-urgent queries or bookings, we would ask that you call the surgery on an alternative day.
Many thanks in advance for your co-operation and support in this matter.

We will be open again on Thursday as usual from 08:00.
