No creativity in my little sewing room today, instead I’m outside enjoying the lovely weather sunny Sussex is having

Wind, rain, hail & sun ……
Perfect weather for ducks 🦆
I’m not impressed about it, but the garden needs sorting out.
The mess is getting cleared, the clay & rubble has been shifted, we have another tip run to do but need to wait till April 🤬 we’ve had our monthly quota …..

So today is finishing the new trellis, moving the jasmine to climb on said trellis, add manure, compost & soil to the waterlogged new planting bed, pot the Phormium, give the hosta’s bigger pots & pop on shaded side, pop a slab down next to new planting spot, plant up the spring bulbs that were dug out last week
Tidy up all my beautiful magnolia petals that the wind took

SUNS OUT, BLUE SKIES ☀️

I’m on day 6 of my little garden rejig ‼️
Alot of work has gone on, but there is still some to do

I’m currently chilling with a coffee in the full sun area, oh yes this side bakes all afternoon, the perfect tanning spot if you like ….

The area by the fence is shade & partial shade so I’m moving the plants around to make best use of the planting positions 🌳

So nice hearing the fountain trickle on our little pond, the birds twittering away & the garden is full of bees 🐝

If you have sun, get outside & enjoy it

Some much needed time spent in the garden the last few days, lots of work done
But plenty more to do …..

🪏 Dismantling rotten sleeper beds
🪏 Weeding
🪏 Pruning & tying in my clematis’s
🪏 Lifting paving slabs
🪏 Moving mounds of soil
🚘 3 tip runs

Oh …… finally got in my shed too & started sorting that out ( only taken 6 months 😂 )
Still unsure what I’ll use it for, lots still to sort

My beautiful magnolia & it’s 37 flowers
Yes yes yes 💕

Todays job was completing the wing followed by getting the calico in place. Then helping the hubby get it downstairs ready for collection

Yesterday was lots of piping…..
Both wings had foam, calico & piping completed
1 wing had top fabric added with plenty of hand stitches to give it a nice flat edge

Today I’ll get the other wing covered & stitched up, then it’s the final touch a run of piping along the top & the backing fabric put on, soon be ready for collection

When it comes to piping work I always bring out my old faithful girl
This Bernina 1008 is my first ever machine
The reason I bought her is because whilst studying at college this was the sewing machine I’d always choose
I didn’t think much of the computerised ones, too fiddly tbh ‼️

Give me an old machine that works & I’ll be as happy as a bee 🐝
