Charles Thomas Walter Radmall passed away peacefully at home on Sunday 22nd February 2026, aged 84 years.

Charles was a Funeral Director alongside his sons and daughter-in-law at the business previously associated with Tim & Lyn.

During his retirement, Charles often helped Tim, Lyn & Dominic as a coffin bearer. It has been a privilege to have three generations helping local families. Charles had an extraordinary impact during his career and retirement, assisting thousands of families with saying goodbye to their loved ones.

The loss of an outstanding Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather is immeasurable, but as Charles would often say, “a day without a smile is a day wasted”, so we will do our best to remember Charles with smiles, love and laughter.

Charles’ funeral service will take place at St Wilfrid’s Church, Station Road, Burgess Hill, on Saturday 21st March at 1:00pm. Family flowers only please.

The town centre is a hive of activity tonight as the Christmas Market, organised by the Town Council, begins. The bandstand has live music, and the town is filled with chalets sponsored by local businesses. There’s lots to look at and enjoy over the weekend.

Our community window display also has its first instalment from Wendy Wren of Burgess Hill Artists. The pieces of art on display are available to purchase, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to St Peter & St James Hospice.

For GDPR reasons we’ve always kept the blinds down at No. 80, but it’s felt like such a waste of two good windows facing the highstreet. So, we’ve created two new display areas to make better use of the space.

The left-hand side is now furnished with simple décor and a rolling display, but we’d love passers-by to see more than funeral-related content. With that in mind, we’re opening the right up as a community display space.

Today, we had the honour of looking after a husband and wife who, after 65 years of marriage, passed away within a short time of each other.

Their family chose to hold a joint funeral that celebrated them both as individuals and as a devoted couple.

A special thank you to our friends at Richard Steel & Partners for allowing us to hire their hearse, which closely matches ours in appearance. This meant the couple could travel in unison and arrive side by side at the crematorium — a fitting tribute to their lifelong journey together.

This week, Tim, Lyn, and Dominic collected our new hearse and limousine. The photos show the transformation of our brand-new Jaguar XF over the past year into the hearse we have today. Paired with a Jaguar XJ limousine, we are confident this elegant pair of vehicles will provide our families and their loved ones with comfortable and dignified transport on our funerals.

Since January, our families who have chosen to honour their loved ones' memories through charitable donations in lieu of flowers have raised over £46,000 for worthy causes through our partnership with MuchLoved. This meaningful choice not only celebrates the lives of those who have passed but also helps other people in need. A big thank you to everyone who has donated to a meaningful cause this year.

In 2023, with the help of MuchLoved, our families have raised £57,906 in memory of their loved ones by nominating a charity to receive donations in leu of flowers at their funerals. It is lovely to see that good causes will benefit from the kindness that is shared from friends and family after a funeral.
