Looks who's joining Phoenix! For those who don't know, James's younger brother Phil has been in the Czech Republic for the past 15 years training top 10 strongman Ondล™ej Fojtลฏ! With him he brings a wealth of strongman training, sibling rivalry and great competition experience.

Strength training doesn't have to mean "BIG & BULKY", in fact we would usually refer to that as training for muscle mass . Strength training also doesn't have to be training specifically for a sport, it can be as simple as improving your strength to increase your squat performance, boost your deadlifting power or helping to surpass your current bench press record.

When you have a cupboard full of crisps and unhealthy snacks, it's hard to go for anything else when the cravings kick in. But how about making your own protein flapjacks? REALLY EASY to make PLUS you can play around with the flavours of protein powder.

Knee pain, it gets in the way of everyday life, stops you taking part in activities you love and generally just sucks! ๐Ÿ‘Ž

Arthroscopic surgeries to treat this are extremely common and yet many people still suffer even after this intervention. I have personally suffered with knee pain so know only too well how frustrating and debilitating it can be! ๐Ÿฅ

Stronger quads, in particular VMO (Vastus Medialis Oblique) strength is well documented to be directly correlated with pain reduction. I find it extremely frustrating that some of the myths around training legs persist today, in particular that squatting below parallel is bad for your knees.

Nothing could be further from the truth!! โŒ

It has been proven through EMG (Electromyography) testing that the VMO is most active in movements like the squat, when below parallel, so stopping short will not do your knees any favours at all! ๐Ÿ‘†
