Last week at GoodOaks Mid Sussex was all about our amazing team.

We were delighted to welcome new faces during our in-house induction. It’s always exciting to see our care family grow.

Our existing team also took part in refresher training, keeping skills sharp and knowledge up to date so we can continue providing the highest standard of care to our clients across Mid Sussex.

You can now borrow potentially life-saving blood pressure monitors free of charge from all 36 libraries in West Sussex!

High blood pressure (or hypertension) is a leading cause of heart attacks, strokes and other diseases, but it is a treatable condition and early detection is key. The easy-to-use blood pressure monitoring kits can be borrowed for up to three weeks by local library members and used at home to check blood pressure daily.

The kits come with a guide on how to measure blood pressure, interpret the results, and a diary to log them. For low and high blood pressure readings, people are encouraged to contact their GP for further advice and treatment. Further information to support being healthy is also provided in the kit.

The initiative is a partnership between West Sussex County Council’s public health and library services and NHS Sussex, with the aim of increasing the detection of undiagnosed hypertension.

COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH
It's 75 days till Christmas Day. Many people dread Christmas especially Christmas Day. It may be because a loved one has died and memories are hard, it may be that relationships are difficult or it may be that you do not have anyone to spend the day with... well that is no longer the case... Come and spend Christmas Day with Befriended.
Befriended is all about bringing joy, hope and love and we do that in spades over Christmas.
On Christmas Day we provide a four course Christmas lunch, entertainment and a Christmas gift, but more than that its a day of friendship and fun.
