Such a privilege to work with ICONIC! This international task force was set up to promote and facilitate collaboration between scientific communities engaged in nutrition and cancer in research, education and training, and in clinical or public health practice. Amazing ambitions!

This article (published in Annals of Nutrition & Metabolism back in December 2019) gives you a good idea of what ICONIC is all about if you’re interested! https://www.karger.com/Article/PDF/505349

You can follow ICONIC on Twitter () or sign up to receive its newsletter published 3 times a year! https://wcrf.us4.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=93dfea27d6d3712ecef7b589f&id=d22f484e45

If anyone fancies learning more about nutrition for interest (or even CPD if relevant), some of the British Nutrition Foundation website’s online courses are free at the moment between 20th April and 4th May - https://www.nutrition.org.uk/nutritioninthenews/new-course/freeonlinecourses.html
There’s a couple on introduction to healthy eating and nutrition, and also other topics such as dietary fibre and gut health, fats, sport and exercise nutrition, allergy etc - some are aimed at different health professionals like midwives, nurses or pharmacists etc but have a look and see if you’re interested in any!

There are also a number of other talks and webinars on specific topics free on the website too at the moment if anyone is interested..

Anyway, just thought I’d share!

To help with your online learning and CPD at this time, a selection of BNF online training courses will be available FREE of charge between Monday 20th April and Monday 4th May.

Back to another side of work... This is Faezeh at Elan Nursery Steyning being awarded The Early Years Nutrition Partnership ‘Advanced Level’ Quality Mark! She and the team have worked so hard this year to achieve this higher level of accreditation, which demonstrates their extra commitment to a whole setting approach to nutrition for their nursery. Well done to Nandor (their brilliant chef who isn’t pictured here because he was busy preparing the children’s yummy lunch!) for creating menus that are in line with the Advanced level Quality Mark. It’s great to work with such a lovely, enthusiastic team 😊

Did you know the title of nutritionists is not yet protected by law, meaning that anyone can advertise their services as a nutritionist? So it's important to find a nutritionist who is appropriately qualified and registered by a trustworthy professional body. The Association for Nutrition (AfN) governs a UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists (UKVRN) - “to distinguish nutrition practitioners who meet rigorously applied training, competence and professional practice criteria. Its purpose is to protect the public and assure the credibility of nutrition as a responsible profession.” You can find out more and search for a registered nutritionist here - http://www.associationfornutrition.org/default.aspx?tabid=76
