Independent Optician in Burgess Hill Gardiners Opticians, formerly Wendy Carey Opticians, was established by the now retired, Wendy Carey, in 1994.

In February 2012, optometrist Catriona Gardiner took over the practice and has been running it ever since. Gardiners Opticians specialises in designer frames and a wide range of contact lenses, including specialist lenses for complex prescriptions.

Do fake designer sunglasses protect your eyes? Often, no.

Many counterfeits offer little to no UV protection, which can increase the risk of long-term eye damage. Children’s eyes are especially vulnerable, even on cloudy days.

You don’t need to spend a fortune though. A budget pair from a reputable high street shop can provide the same UV protection as designer brands when properly rated (UV400/100% UV).
