Beaufort House Beaufort House care home sits in the seaside town of Burnham-on-Sea, in Somerset.

A former school, with two acres of landscaped grounds, Beaufort has 33 ensuite rooms in the main home and 12 self-contained, independent living flats close by.

What a birthday Dorothy had — celebrating her 106th! 🎉🎂

She was joined by her daughters and family, making it a truly special day. Here at Beaufort House, we treated her to balloons and a lovely homemade cake, and Burnham-on-Sea.com also stopped by for a chat.

A wonderful day filled with cake, tea and celebrations — well deserved, and certainly time for a nap afterwards! 💛

Here at Beaufort House, we are welcoming the beautiful spring! 💐

We have taken one of our ladies shopping to Tesco to buy some treats to put in our tuck shop, she make a great job of it. We also did some Easter art with Margaret. Book club was a brilliant morning with so many residents joining in, which is lovely, especially when you hear them singing, laughing, and being so happy!

Another of our residents wanted to make cakes for everyone, like she used to when living at home for all her family, which she did, and they were gone so fast 🎂

We also went on a mystery tour, and we headed for Cheddar Gorge and went all the way up. From there, we travelled through many beautiful villages, including Wedmore, that the residents enjoyed. We stopped where we could for a drink and snack. We then travelled on, and we could see Glastonbury.

We travelled back to Burnham with a full van of happy Beaufort House residents! It was such an excellent trip.

Another busy and joyful week at Beaufort House 🏠

We had a fantastic time with the Burnham Ukulele Group, with so many residents joining in singing and enjoying the music together 🎶

Chester, the PAT dog, also came to visit and brought a wonderfully calming presence for everyone 🐾

A highlight of the week was our trip to Berrow School, where we were made to feel so welcome. One of our ladies even read a story with such expression—it brought back lovely memories of her time teaching and was a truly special moment 💛

We also celebrated Red Nose Day, with staff and residents dressing in red and joining in the fun 🔴

Alongside this, we enjoyed Holy Communion, word games, bingo, and lunches with friends—plenty to keep everyone engaged and smiling.

Next week, we’re looking forward to getting our potting shed organised and planting our raised beds 🌷🌺🍓🫐🫑

From garden centre shopping with drinks and a good chat, to plenty of fun trying on summer hats, it’s been a brilliant time at Beaufort House 😊👒 We’ve also welcomed a new potting shed for our gardening club, and residents can’t wait to get planting homegrown salad, vegetables, and flowers 🌱🥬🌸

We celebrated two very special birthdays too 🎂 One resident invited a loved one in for lunch and fine wine, with entertainment from our very own Nigel. Another of our ladies turned 90, and her wish was to visit her favourite pub for a special Thai curry. She had a lovely surprise when Rachel drove her there, and she enjoyed a fantastic time with friends 🧡

Alongside all of that, we’ve had bingo, quizzes, word games, arts and crafts, and our baking club was a hit with jam tarts 🧁🎨 Beaufort House really is the place to be if you enjoy activities, outings, and a warm, lively atmosphere.

We’ve had a lovely week at Beaufort House, with plenty to celebrate 😊

One of our residents enjoyed a very special birthday, starting with lunch out with his daughters, then returning to Beaufort for a delicious Mary Berry chocolate cake 🎂🍫

We also had another brilliant session with Nigel, and a wonderful spring art lesson with Margaret 🎶🎨

This month we have six birthdays to celebrate, including two very special milestones, one resident turning 80 years young and another reaching the fantastic age of 90 🥳✨ Safe to say, there are lots of celebrations ahead! 🍾🎂

Great week at Beaufort House 🏠😊

Our Pancake Day tossing was great fun — we found pancakes in places we definitely didn’t expect! 🥞😄

We also had a full minibus for one of our famous mystery tours, heading out to the Somerset Levels. With fields looking like rivers and ponds, we spotted lots of swans and cygnets, Canada geese, and plenty of other birds 🦢🪿✨

A brilliant afternoon with lots of chats, fun, and laughter — and one resident even offered to tip the driver while we were still driving! 😆

Beaufort House residents had a brilliant trip to the pantomime 🎭✨

A few residents asked if they could go, so we made it happen and took four residents who requested it 😊👏 They had a fantastic time cheering, laughing, and getting fully involved, and they even got a special mention too! 🎉

We also welcomed the Weston-super-Mare Ukulele Group 🎶🥁 What fun everyone had playing tambourines and castanets, and joining in with all the songs. Sweet Caroline really brought the roof down! 😄🎤

Our residents have already asked for them to come back soon 💛 All the money they raise goes to the children’s hospice, and they won a Weston-super-Mare award last year for raising thousands of pounds 👏🌟

We always encourage families and friends to pop in and make themselves at home 🫶🏡

We had a very special birthday celebration at Beaufort House this week 🎉

Our birthday lady enjoyed a delicious coffee cake, just as she’d ordered, and told her daughter it was the best birthday she’s ever had. With balloons, banners and lots of happy voices singing, it was a truly lovely day 💛

Some residents also enjoyed a trip out for a pub lunch, which they really loved, and our art group focused on a spring theme with beautiful flowers 🌸

Beaufort House residents had a busy week last week! We had a very special 92nd birthday, so we made a trip to Cheddar Garden Centre for a very nice birthday lunch. The feedback was tremendous with three very happy residents. Coming home to a delicious chocolate birthday cake that Kelly, our cook made for him! 🎂

We had another trip out to WWT Steart Marshes in Somerset, where a few of our residents used to go bird watching. They had a great time! We will go back when the weather is better for a day and enjoy a picnic.

Thursday 15th is National Hat day, so the residents, family, friends, and our lovely district nurses were happy to join in! 🎩👒🧢
