A very Happy Birthday to such a kind gentleman.

We have made strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla cup cakes as requested by our residents. We had a lot of fun this week with outings for lunch. The beach'd boys entertained us with their sea shanty songs. Book club, quiz, word games, Bingo, and loads more.

We had a really lovely and successful Thursday morning at Beaufort House, inviting the residents of Burnham to join us for tea, cake and a chat for our Macmillan Coffee Morning. Thank you so much to everyone who came along. We raised £180.80 with more donations still coming in from families who could not attend.

Friday’s Ladies’ Lunch was full of laughter, chatting and delicious food. Over the last two months more than 30 residents have enjoyed lunch outings arranged by Rachel, our Activities Organiser. They have enjoyed them so much that many are already asking to go again.

We also had a very pleasant residents meeting last week. We discussed menu changes, likes and dislikes, booked entertainment for Christmas and talked about upcoming trips with Rachel, whether it is Christmas shopping, a trip to the garden centre or simply lunch out with friends.

At Beaufort House, our residents are always encouraged to ask Rachel to arrange trips to suit their individual needs.

From pumpkin art to autumnal baskets 🎃 our residents have been busy getting creative and enjoying the season.

We also had some lovely one-to-one time out enjoying the flowers ⚘️ buying chocolate and sharing a hot cup of tea with a little cake treat – a perfect boost for anyone needing a pick-me-up. A walk along the seafront brought fresh air people-watching and of course lots of happy moments with dogs 🐾

Looking out towards Hinkley Point South Wales and the Blackdown Hills sparked conversations about holidays and adventures including tales of one resident cycling all over the country on his push bike 🚴‍♂️

Our week was also filled with social activities with meals out with friends Holy Communion All-Sorts Choir book club and quizzes all always well attended. We finished off with a fun game of bingo with chocolate and toiletries up for grabs 🎉

Beaufort House residents asked to go out for lunch, so several bookings were made to make sure they went with their friends that they chatted to. Sometimes, 1 journey, other times 2, depending upon their capability to walk, some of our residents are in wheelchairs. But not one is excluded. Everyone chose their own meal with drinks and pudding.
Two of our ladies ordered and paid for half a pint of beer shandy. When the waiter bought them, they were pints. Their eyes lit up, and they both said thank you very much 😊
Truly moments to treasure. Rachel will make sure everyone is treated equally and arrange trips to suit individual needs.

Yesterday we celebrated Oman, an Indian harvest festival, with the most amazing day organised entirely by our wonderful staff.

Tradition from the Kerala region was beautifully honoured, with cream and gold worn throughout the day. The celebrations began at noon with a fabulous meal, followed by great entertainment from spoon-and-lime races to walking games, musical chairs, and even a few lively dances from some lovely ladies 💃. Residents and staff alike joined in the fun, creating such a joyful atmosphere.

It’s hard to put into words just how grateful we are for everyone who made this day so special. At Beaufort House, inclusivity is at the heart of what we do, we’re more than a workplace, we’re one big family

From 12 noon, we will be having a traditional Indian lunch where we celebrate the Kerla region of Indian's version of their harvest festival with fine food, music, dancing, and amazing outfits.

Families are welcome to join us as we celebrate together🍲💒🎉🥨

🤠✨ What an amazing County & Western Day at Beaufort House! ✨🤠

Residents, families, and staff all dressed up for a fun-filled day with live music from the Weston-super-Mare Ukulele Group 🎶, a BBQ 🍔🌭 (thanks, Dan!), and even hay bales to set the scene. 🌾

We had raffles and a tombola, raising funds for the ukulele group who’ve raised over £50,000 for Children’s Hospice South West. 👏❤️

The sun was shining, the atmosphere was buzzing, and our residents had the best time. Huge thanks to our wonderful team for making it unforgettable! 🏡💛

This afternoon, the residents and staff at Beaufort House threw a surprise baby shower for Charlie, one of our lovely senior carers, who is expecting a baby boy in just a few weeks. 🎉

Charlie was showered with 🎁 gifts, love, and hugs, and we all enjoyed a delicious cake 🎂 kindly arranged by our manager, Natasha, for the special occasion.

One of our residents, who has known Charlie for many years, made a very touching gesture by writing her a heartfelt card and giving a small gift for the baby.

We all wish Charlie, her family, and their soon-to-arrive bundle of joy the very best, and we look forward to meeting them in the near future. 😀

Dreams Do Come True 🌟 at Beaufort House 🏠

On Monday, 4th August, one of our lovely ladies, Lynn, had a dream come true. Thanks to our wonderful activities organiser, Rachel, she was able to attend her grandson’s wedding.

With Konnie’s help, Lynn’s hair looked stunning, and Aaron lent a hand in getting her ready in her beautiful wedding outfit.

Rachel then drove her to Combe Lodge, where she spent the most incredible day surrounded by her loving family.

The warmth, care, and affection she received were truly second to none.

Her family were absolutely amazing, and Rachel would like to thank them for making her feel so welcome.

It was a joy and privilege to help Lynn fulfil her dream. Everyone looked wonderful – especially the bride, Chelsea, and the groom, Warren.

We would all like to wish Chelsea and Warren a lifetime filled with love, happiness, and luck ❤️

💍 Wedding Wishes & Teamwork at Beaufort House! 💐

This week, we came together to celebrate a very special occasion—giving Kelly, one of our wonderful cooks, a surprise pre-wedding party with our residents at Beaufort House! 🎊

Our weekend team decorated the Blue Room beautifully with decorations from Natasha, and Rachel set up everything the staff had brought in for the party. Kelly was told she was helping with an afternoon tea for the residents, but when she walked in… surprise!

She was delighted, and everyone wished her and her husband, Harvey, a lifetime of happiness. ❤️

While Kelly is away, Emma, one of our talented Care Team Leaders, has stepped into the kitchen to help cook. 👩‍🍳 Our residents have been thrilled with their meals. Emma is not only an amazing team leader but also a fantastic cook!

A huge thank you to Emma and the whole Beaufort House team for making this celebration and smooth transition possible. 🙌

🐻 Teddy Bears Picnic at Beaufort House 🐨

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the little ones from Footprints Nursery back to Beaufort House for another magical Teddy Bears Picnic!

Much-loved resident Mary took the lead once again, guiding the children with her signature warmth and humour.

She gave them “five minutes to run around,” then gathered them together with their favourite teddy bears or soft toys - ready for an enchanting storytime.

Mary’s expressive storytelling had the children completely captivated, their eyes wide with wonder and their teddies tucked close by.

To round off a perfect afternoon, Rachel prepared a delicious table buffet - and the little guests left nothing behind!

We’re so glad they enjoyed their visit and can’t wait to welcome them back in a few weeks.
