We would like to say a huge thank you to Sofia and her family for the lovely gifts and the thoughtful card she brought in to share with everyone during her last visit.

Sofia is off to big school in September, and we wish her, along with all the children who’ve been visiting The Big House (Beaufort), the very best of luck and happiness on their next adventure!

We’re already looking forward to next week’s Teddy Bears’ Picnic with the little ones.

Footprints Nursery has been visiting Beaufort for the past year, and it’s always such a joy to see Megan, Catherine, and the children every Thursday afternoon.🧸🌸🎒

Fun times with Berrow Little Learners!

We had a great time when Berrow nursery children came to Beaufort House on Friday. They sang songs and gave each resident an instrument to play. Mary was delighted to read the book. We're going on a bear hunt, which delighted both the children, residents, and the teachers.

We are very grateful that they will be coming along weekly from September 2025

🐴✨ Special Visitors at Beaufort! ✨🐴
We had a truly magical Friday morning at Beaufort as we welcomed two stunning horses, Sapphire and Ruby, for a special visit that brought smiles all around! 💖🥕🍎

Sapphire, a beautiful black Welsh Cob cross, belongs to Cynthia’s daughter. At 19 years old and standing 14.3hh tall, she’s happiest when munching away peacefully. She’s currently bitless, wears a nose net for pollen, uses an inhaler for her asthma, and sports special boots to protect her hooves from stones.

Alongside her was Ruby, Wendy’s sweet 23-year-old thoroughbred. Once a racehorse (though she wasn’t a fan of the track), Ruby was lovingly rehomed and now lives her best life!

These two best friends live nearby and brought such joy and calm to our residents. Everyone enjoyed feeding them carrots and apples and chatting with their kind owners. The interaction, laughter, and gentle presence of the horses made for a truly unforgettable and therapeutic morning. 🐎💫

Thank you to Cynthia, Wendy, and, of course, Sapphire and Ruby, for a visit we’ll always remember!

Beaufort House has been really enjoying the month of June.

We've all been busy eating ice-cream lollies and sliced melons to help keep us all hydrated.Alsorts choir came, which we all enjoyed. We've spent time in the garden admiring the beautiful flowers and hanging baskets. We went for a stroll around the prom, and the residents bumped into old friends.

We also joined singing for memory, which the group really enjoyed. Reverend Steve Bennett took an afternoon to come into talk about his time in India 🇮🇳 he told us about how the children get sold, the amazing thing his charity does is to find these children and keep them safe in a special safe House which they have built from scratch, just amazing said our residents that attended 💙 👏

Andrea got them motivated and ready to start the day.

Neville, our pianist, came along to Beaufort House today as a volunteer to play our fantastic piano.

The residents absolutely loved it and were so happy to hear the piano being played. Just like some of our residents used to. Neville will be coming along each Monday to play before lunchtime. Natasha offered him to stay for lunch and have a chat with some of our residents. Neville was very pleased. And is looking forward to seeing us all again on Monday.

However, we are looking for someone who is able to tune our beautiful grand piano 🎹

If you know anyone, please let us know 🙏

At Beaufort House, We have celebrated two very special birthdays. So we had a nice trip to the garden centre for morning tea and cake.

We had a look around, and the ladies had a look at the clothes shops as well. They both had a very good time and chose a friend each to take along.

Fun times at Beaufort House this week. We enjoyed a one to one time over a nice cup of tea at Saunders garden centre where we bought some flowers to plant in our raised beds.
Footprints Nursery helped us celebrate national biscuit day. We decorated biscuits with butter icing and sprinkles.

We also had our residents' meeting, which was well attended. More trips out was asked for, so that is what we will do. Anything that is asked to do we try our hardest to achieve.

In aid of World mental health day, everyone was asked to wear hats!

Here are a few that took part! We had so much fun. The residents laughed at Rachel in her grandchildren jester hat. They voted her the winner because it made them laugh so much.

We hope you enjoy looking at Beaufort's residents and staff wearing their hats as much as we did!

We helped Imesha celebrate her birthday. As she is so far away from home, her family lives in Sir Lanka, and her partner works in Tokyo. She was so blessed 🙌 to relieve such beautiful cake flowers and balloon 🎈

We helped her celebrate out in our stunning garden with our residents and the children from Footprints Nursery 👣

As she walked out into the garden, we sang happy birthday to her. She was delighted and said that she was very loved and blessed.

Jean joined the book club this morning after a little encouragement from our Team Leader, Emma — and we’re so glad she did! 📚 She said she really enjoyed it and would love to come again. Jean and Mary both did amazingly and are feeling proud of themselves, as are we!

Our book club meets every Wednesday morning and is open to all. We read short stories, poems, and enjoy reminiscing about the past. It’s always a well-attended group, with plenty of participation and lots of smiles.

🎉 A Special 93rd Birthday Surprise for Ann 🫏☕

Ann had a truly memorable 93rd birthday thanks to her loving daughter Carole. Using the Beaufort House mobility car, they headed out for a special day together to Weston-Super-Mare — with one goal in mind: seeing Ann’s favourite animals… the donkeys! 🫏

After a lovely walk along the seafront, the pair visited Saunders Garden Centre to enjoy afternoon tea and share cherished memories.

Ann said she had the best time and was full of smiles after a wonderful day out with Carole ❤️
