                                        💜 Self-Employed Counsellor - Empowering Young People Affected by Domestic Abuse 💜 
VANS Domestic Abuse Recovery Service (DARS) is seeking dedicated and experienced self-employed counsellors to provide vital support to children aged 11-17 who have been impacted by domestic abuse. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in young people's lives and help them heal and thrive. 
About the Role: 
- Provide therapeutic counselling to young people (11-17 years) who have experienced domestic abuse. 
- Work independently, managing your own caseload and appointments. 
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records. 
Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards. 
- Participate in regular clinical supervision. 
About You: 
- A qualified counsellor with a recognised professional qualification (e.g., Diploma in Counselling, BACP accreditation) with a minimum of 350 counselling hours. 
- Significant experience of working with children and young people, ideally within a trauma-informed framework. 
- Specialist training or experience in working with individuals affected by domestic abuse is highly desirable. 
- A strong understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and its impact on young people. 
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people. 
-Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children. 
- Self-motivated and organised, with the ability to manage your own workload effectively. 
- Hold a current enhanced DBS check. 
- Professional indemnity insurance. 
What We Pay: 
£35 an hour for 50-minute sessions.
