A study published in the April issue of the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology has examined the efficacy and possible mechanisms of Botox on hypertrophic scarring. Clinical observations indicate that Botox can inhibit the growth and improve the eventual appearance of hypertrophic scarring. The team used human keloid fibroblasts to investigate the molecular mechanism of Botox on hypertrophic scarring. Different concentrations of Botox were used to treat keloid fibroblasts. The procedure was not painful, just ‘tingly’. 14/04/2018 Peeling has started around my nose. Skin feels more tight. 15/04/2018 More peeling around mouth and nose. Brighter skin is being revealed. 16/04 Forehead and cheeks have started to peel. My facial rejuvenation is well underway. Fine lines and wrinkles are being treated on a deep skin level.

Willingness to undergo a surgical procedure is highest among women, with 37% indicating that they would consider having one, with interest in cosmetic surgery peaking at 52% with women aged 18-34. Hamilton Fraser Cosmetic Insurance has issued a statement clarifying its position over the provision of insurance for non-medics providing injectables treatments, saying it will not provide coverage. The statement read, "Our current position is that we do not provide indemnity insurance products to beauty therapists delivering dermal filler or botox treatments to the public. Whilst it remains legal for non-medical practitioners to perform dermal filler injections in the UK, based on the current evidence of skillset and training for beauty therapists we continue to take the position that they should not be undertaking these procedures - whether previously insured elsewhere or not.
