How wonderful to receive praise from health professionals visiting our home, and much appreciated when ambulance staff take the time to leave such positive feedback for our staff. This particular “well done” was for April, one of our Care Supervisors and team.

Residents have enjoyed a number of pottery painting sessions over the years & we are always keen to support Tina’s local business – Lowe’s Pottery. At our most recent session residents painted some beautiful items including easter trinkets, rabbits, elephants and a trinket dish. It’s lovely to see the concentration involved from them sharing a craft activity. Their final glazed items look fantastic. We look forward to booking our regular Christmas session soon! Step aside Alan Titchmarsh… the residents of Tudor Lodge have been busy planting and sowing seeds recently so we look forward to sharing the product of their hard work in the coming weeks. A herb garden is in the making and some flowers and vegetables will look lovely in our raised planters. 🌺🌹🌷

🦙🦙🦙Last week it was our pleasure to welcome Billy, Pippin & Benjamin from Stoke Wood Alpacas to our home. Residents thoroughly enjoyed meeting them and hearing about Sally & Steve’s herd of alpacas. They are due to be sheared this week so we were fortunate to see them with their fleeces intact - they will certainly look more trim now! Sally & Steve tend to sell the fleece and it’s often used to make yarn.

It’s not everyday an alpaca visits your room & it was a tight fit in the lift for the three alpacas and their handlers. Our trips from visiting animals are always popular and we look forward to seeing them again.

🐶🐾Our residents recently enjoyed a delightful visit from Bertie, the Burnham-on-Sea Basset Bleu de Gascogne hound who won a Discover Dogs award at Crufts last month.

His owner Kate introduced Bertie and advised that he was a rescue from Ireland whom she adopted last June believing that he was a standard Basset. Residents enjoyed learning how Bertie has settled in and how he has become quite the celebrity locally with Kate saying he’s often heard before he’s seen as he does enjoy a howl!

It was a pleasure to see residents interacting with Bertie and giving him treats. Interestingly, one of our residents used to show Poodles so she enjoyed chatting about show preparation and Kate said that Bertie had a session at a local doggy spa in readiness for his appearance at Crufts! We also enjoyed hearing about residents beloved dogs and learning the various breeds they’d had. All in all a pawfect afternoon! 🐾🐶
