Today we worked on our Halloween party preparations. The residents had lots of fun carving and decorating pumpkins and preparing trick or treat bags for our Halloween Party on Saturday 1st November at 2pm for residents and their families and the community. The blue pumpkin serves as a way to promote a more inclusive and understanding experience for individuals that are neurodivergent. There will be a Halloween show with a magician, face painting, children’s games and Halloween treats. Witches, wizards, ghosts and skeletons and anything else welcome.

This afternoon we enjoyed celebrating Diwali the Festival of Lights with our residents and staff. Residents enjoyed music and dancing with staff and having a glass of wine to toast the Diwali celebrations. The room was decorated with tea lights and rose petals for Diwali ambiance.

Burnham Lodge residents had a great visit this morning from Basil And Crew Mobile Farm animals, Peggy the pony, Marble the donkey, Toothless, Astrid & Hiccup the goats, Caramel the guinea pig, Tina the tortoise, George the cockerel, Georgia the rabbit and Geraldine the goose. We even took Georgia the rabbit and Caramel the guinea pig to residents in their rooms. It truly was an amazing morning here at Burnham Lodge for residents, families and staff. Everyone enjoyed the visit that was therapeutically stimulating. All the animals have been rescued and given a good home by Basil & Crew. burnhamlodgedayfarm

This afternoon.We came together to celebrate Mental Health Day with a peaceful meditation session. carers,activity staff ,chefs,and residents all joined in,taking a moment to relax,breathe,and recharge it was truly lovely afternoon-calm uplifting and mindfulness reminded us how important it is to take time for ourselves and for one another
