International Men’s Day – 19th November

Today we’re celebrating International Men’s Day, a day to recognise the men and boys in our community and to shine a light on the health challenges many face.

This year’s focus is on:
✨ Mental wellbeing
✨ Positive role models
✨ Supporting men to live healthier, longer lives

At our practice, we want to encourage all men to:
🔹 Check in with their mental health
🔹 Speak openly if they’re struggling
🔹 Book in for check-ups if something doesn’t feel right
🔹 Look after their physical health, small steps make a big difference

If you’re worried about your health, physical or emotional, we’re here to help. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Let’s support the men in our lives; dads, sons, partners, brothers, friends, not just today, but every day. 💙

🌿 Think Self-Care First — Your Local Pharmacy Can Help! 🌿

It’s that time of year when coughs, colds, sore throats, and minor illnesses start making the rounds. But did you know… you don’t always need to see a GP?

💊 Your local pharmacist is a trained healthcare professional who can offer expert advice.
They can help with:

- Coughs, colds, and sore throats
- Earache, sinus pain, or headaches
- Minor skin conditions and rashes
- Tummy upsets, constipation, or heartburn
- Hay fever, allergies, and much more

👩‍⚕️ New NHS Pharmacy First Service:
Many Burnley pharmacies can now offer treatments for common conditions and refer you directly for further care if needed, saving you time and freeing up GP appointments for those who need them most.

🩹 Self-care tips:

- Rest, stay hydrated, and eat nourishing foods
- Keep a few basics at home (paracetamol, ibuprofen, oral - rehydration, antiseptic cream)
- Seek advice early if things don’t improve

Your pharmacy is part of your NHS care team, and often the quickest route to feeling better 💚

If you are pregnant, you can help protect your baby from RSV, whooping cough, and flu, which can cause serious illness. Vaccines give you both the best protection against these diseases.

Speak to your midwife or GP practice.
