If you are eligible for NHS Breast Cancer Screening and registered with the GP practices listed in the poster below, please attend your appointment when invited. Breast screening aims to find breast cancer at an early stage, often before there are any symptoms. Early detection may often mean simpler and more successful treatment.

A visit to a breast screening unit usually takes less than 30 minutes and the mammogram only takes a few minutes.

Noticed a change in your body? A lump, ongoing pain, weight loss, blood in your poo or blood in your p*e are all signs to speak to your doctor. Most symptoms are not cancer, but checking them early can make a difference.

The East Lancashire Breast Screening Service's mobile breast screening unit will be based at Rossendale Primary Care Centre from January - March 2026, offering free NHS breast screening for women aged 50 up to their 71st birthday 💗💗. If you are eligible, please keep an eye out for your appointment letter.
