Residents at Anchor - The Manor House Knaresborough in Yorkshire have been experiencing the magic of having their bucket list dreams turned into reality. Thanks to the homeโ€™s dedicated team going above and beyond, the residentsโ€™ long-held wishes have come true.

Resident David had always wanted to ride a steam train, and with careful planning, the team at The Manor House Knaresborough were able to make that happen. David enjoyed a scenic train ride across the Yorkshire Dales, with others from the home.

Susan, another resident at The Manor House Knaresborough, was born in Ireland. She always dreamt of returning, so the team brought Ireland to her, transforming the home into a vibrant celebration of Irish culture.

Priors Hall Care Home in Corby recently opened its doors for the latest gathering of its Community Lunch Club - a vibrant afternoon of friendship, food, and shared stories designed to bring together people from across the local area.

The gathering offered a wonderful chance for local neighbours and familiar faces to reconnect. Three Priors Hall residents were especially thrilled to welcome a friend from nearby Priors Hall Park and before the afternoon ended, they exchanged phone numbers to keep in touch beyond the event.

Tips to stay hydrated in hot weather

Tips to stay hydrated in hot weather

STAY HYDRATED

1. Drink Regularly, Don't Wait for Thirst: Thirst is a sign of mild dehydration, so it's best to drink fluids throughout the day before you feel thirsty.

2. Water is Generally Best: While other beverages can contribute to your fluid intake, water is often the best choice for staying hydrated, according to the American Heart Association.

3. Consider Electrolytes: If you're sweating heavily during exercise, you might want to consider sports drinks with electrolytes to replace those lost through sweat.

4. Eat Water-Rich Foods: Fruits and vegetables like watermelon, strawberries, cucumbers, and lettuce are high in water content and can help contribute to your daily fluid intake.

5. Be Mindful of Your Environment: Hot weather or intense physical activity can increase your fluid needs, so drink more fluids in these situations.

6. Watch Your Urine Color: Clear or pale yellow urine is generally a sign of good hydration, while dark yellow urine indicates a need for more fluids.

7. Limit Sugary Drinks: Avoid excessive consumption of sugary drinks like soda, as they can contribute to dehydration in the long run.

๐ŸŒŸ Jump Back Up July โ€“ Building Resilience Together ๐ŸŒŸ

Life throws challenges at all of us โ€” but how we respond makes all the difference.

This month, weโ€™re embracing Jump Back Up July, a daily reminder that setbacks are part of life โ€” and so is bouncing back stronger. Whether youโ€™re a colleague, resident, or part of our wider community, small daily actions can help shift your mindset, lift your mood, and support others around you.

๐Ÿ’ฌ From simple steps like pausing to breatheโ€ฆ to reaching out to someone you trustโ€ฆ to noticing the positives even on tough days โ€” every small action builds resilience.

๐Ÿ—“ The Action for Happiness calendar gives us daily, achievable ways to boost wellbeing. Why not pick one each day? Share your experiences, encourage each other, and remember โ€” none of us have to face challenges alone.

Together, we can be:
โœ… Happier
โœ… Kinder
โœ… Stronger

Letโ€™s keep supporting ourselves โ€” and each other โ€” every step of the way. ๐Ÿ’š

๐ŸŒˆ Pride 2025: A Time to Listen, Learn, and Love ๐ŸŒˆ

For some of us, the world looks very different than it did when we were growing up. Ideas about identity, love, and family have expandedโ€”and that can feel unfamiliar. But at the heart of it all is something timeless: the human need to be accepted, respected, and loved for who we truly are.

Pride isnโ€™t about pushing anyone awayโ€”itโ€™s about welcoming everyone in. Itโ€™s about supporting our children, grandchildren, neighbours, and friends who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Itโ€™s about kindness, dignity, and the belief that everyone deserves to live without fear or shame.

Letโ€™s keep listening. Letโ€™s keep learning. And above all, letโ€™s keep loving.
