Working with Scarlett is an absolute delight!

We have been working on hip and knee extension, gait training and standing balance following hip surgery and she is doing amazingly 🤩.

Scarlett has settled beautifully into her new ankle foot orthese from last year courtesy of Let’s Go Physio’s Orthotics and Gait Lab and is going from strength to strength.

Orthotics isn’t just about traditional splints and insoles (although we can help with them).

We also prescribe and supply some cutting-edge orthotics for a range of different conditions.

Lycra isn’t just for the gym - it can also be beneficial when used in the management of cerebral palsy, improving sensory regulation, balance and function.

Lycra garments, also known as lycra orthoses are made to measure garments that are fitted to improve muscle tone, postural stability and movement control.

How do lycra garments work?

The garment is close fitting, so, this promotes proprioceptive feedback which allows better awareness of the body’s position.

Bespoke panelling can also help support and stabilise a persons posture whilst sitting standing and walking.

Plus - Lycra garments have been shown to reduce increased muscle tone through what is thought to be sensory feedback.

MAES (Movement Analysis & Education Strategies) Therapy is a specialised, holistic intervention for babies, children, and adults with neurodevelopmental movement disorders, including cerebral palsy.
