We’re proud to be leading the National Literacy Trust’s National Year of Reading 2026 across the Burnley area with the Go All In campaign.

Across 2026, we’ll be bringing communities together through a programme of inspiring events and shared reading moments. We’ll be kicking things off with one of our favourite celebrations of the year…

📖 World Book Day 2026 – Thursday 5 March
We’re so excited to share the World Book Day 2026 £1 books with you. From laugh-out-loud tales to magical mysteries, there’s something for everyone!

World Book Day 2026 will take place on Thursday 5 March 2026. This annual celebration of reading, authors, illustrators, books and the fun of reading is always a highlight, and we’re delighted to launch Go All In with it.

We have a selection of World Book Day books available to distribute for free to local community organisations across Burnley. Made possible with support from the Julia Rausing Trust, Arts Council England, National Year of Reading and World of Books.

Creative Arts Health Activities led by Neil of Colourful Memories.
Join our exciting partnership with Colourful Memories and discover the joy of creative arts and health activities in a welcoming, supportive environment.

These sessions are open to adults of any age who may feel lonely, have special educational needs, disabilities, or social anxiety.
Each session is led by Neil, a caring and qualified Arts-Health Practitioner (M.A. Distinction) with over 40 years’ experience in the arts. Neil is also an experienced carer who values patience and supports every individual’s unique ability and interest.
This is a wonderful chance to relax, connect with others, and explore art and activities. It doesn’t matter if you’re not creative – Neil will help you develop your confidence and skills, and what you accomplish might surprise you.
