Laying flowers at a grave came from a deeper purpose 💐

A long time ago flowers laid by a grave were used to help bridge the gap between the living and the spirits of the deceased.

The beauty of flowers and their lovely aromas were believed to honour the departed and help bring peace between the living and the spirit world.

In today's time it is still common to lay flowers as a symbol of remembering, love and honour for our loved ones who have passed. ❤️

We offer a range of traditional and eco-friendly urns and caskets ❤️

Urns and caskets come in many different styles, materials, and sizes - the choice depends on the preferred look, the type of funeral and, if you are having a burial, the location.

Eco-friendly urns are becoming more and more popular, particularly due to the rise in natural burials which tend to take place in woodland locations. But these urns can also be used in traditional burials and cremations.

It's Memory Monday, and we'd love to hear about some of your favourite memories of loved ones who are no longer with us. ❤️

Sharing and reflecting on memories can provide a sense of connection and closeness with those we've lost. It can also help us acknowledge and process feelings of sadness and grief.

Whether the memories are silly, happy, funny, or something else entirely, if you're comfortable sharing, we'd be honoured to hear them.

Join our wonderful community in the comments below and let's cherish those special moments together.

Do you know the difference between a casket and a coffin? 💭

Quite often these words are thrown interchangeably and referred to as the same thing, they may look similar and serve a similar purpose, however they are different.

▪️ A coffin has a more hexagonal shape, where it is narrow at the head, gets wider at the shoulders and then gets thinner towards the feet and the materials used to construct it can vary.

▪️ A casket is a rectangular shape, with more space and tend to be bulkier and heavier than a coffin, this is due to them commonly being built from wood and metal.

Today is National Grief Awareness Day ❤️

The aim of this awareness day is to encourage open communication on loss and bereavement, and acknowledge the different ways in which individuals cope with loss.

Grief will affect everyone at some point, and it is important to know how to support someone when they are struggling. Some tips for if you're wanting to support someone who is grieving:

▪️ Listen without judgment: Sometimes, the best support you can offer is a listening ear. Allow people to express their feelings without offering solutions or advice unless asked.

▪️ Be Patient: Grief can cause fluctuating emotions. Be patient and understanding as individuals navigate their journey.

▪️ Offer Practical Help: Providing meals, running errands, or helping with household tasks can alleviate some of the daily pressures grieving people may face.

Stay Present: Grieving individuals often feel isolated. Regular check-ins, phone calls or visits can make a significant difference.
